So this was a weird thing that I had thought up in passing?
so Dallas yes has played a lesser amount of games while the Leafs had played more than them but after yesterday I believe it's time to maybe let the Freddy ship set sail. So in saying that the Leafs are probably going to need a better goalie to play behind Campbell as a 1B or even 1A and why not Khudobin!?!?!? Yeah, he is 34 years old with some term left on his deal but that's exactly who I believe the Leafs need at backstop is a Veteran goalie to play alongside a younger counterpart in Jack Campbell. Both would be at a significant discount so the Leafs wouldn't sink 6 million/year into Freddy Andersen in the offseason coming up. The whole premise of trading Engvall is that he has very sporadic inconsistencies some games he plays well, others he has a complete brainfart on ice. We all know that in a different system he would do well but he is a gamble for some teams to bet on him but I believe he is worthwhile. Because Simmonds will be back soon I believe that Simmonds will be the top 6 fwds that they will place alongside JT and Nylander considering it worked so well previously so they might just go back to that but the addition of Blake Comeau is to solidify that gritty style of play that they need in the bottom six. Yes he is 35 but he has been on some playoff teams in the past and that type of experience can do well on a team like this and he would likely play alongside Boyd and Spezza making that line hard to beat! Meanwhile, the wildcard in this deal is Pysyk. Last year, Pysyk gave the Leafs such headaches because he can play multiple posistions on one team. He is billed as a D man but he can also play LW or RW. That type of swiss army knife would work so well on this team when it comes to opposing matchups with other teams come playoffs and it'll be a nightmare for teams to try and figure out their lines when he is in the lineup. If this trade theoretically happens the Lines would be

Offense:

Thornton Matthews Marner
Simmonds Tavares Nylander
Mikhayev Kerfoot Hyman
Comeau Boyd Spezza

Defense:
Rielly Brodie
Muzzin Holl
Pysyk Bogosian

Goalies
Jack Campbell 1A
Anton Khudobin 1B

Extras:
Robertson
Sandin
Liljgren
Bennett ( Trade for another day )
Lehtonen

I think it's reasonable? It won't happen but it's a thought
