<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>Compare that with this d-core. Letang and dumoulin < JoMo and buff
Schultz=Niku (I assume niku is a 30-40 pt offensive d-man or just keep pionk and move niku)
Ian cole < samberg
maata = kovacevic (kovacevic might even be better)
Don’t know much about Daley but heinola is really skilled. Then there is put extra in poolman. He isn’t bad as well and would be a regular on most teams</div></div>
I don’t agree but that’s OK maybe I’ll be proven wrong. But usually having a bunch of young guys in your defense doesn’t end well unless they’re just beasts. I’d take letang and dumoulin at their primes or younger than they are now when They won their cups over buff And morrisey. Just saying. It’s fine to be optimistic but you’re putting a whole lot of confidence in unknowns moving forward .

Several teams would take quick in a heartbeat. Oilers, Calgary, flyers, Just to name a few. And they were probably on their radar before he signed that contract. I doubt they want a underperforming old man at that cap hit.

The Chicago Blackhawks Offseason Review
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oneX</b></div><div>Yep two bad trades imo.
Stan, you slipped hard.</div></div>
On a **** Ottawa team if you can call it one? Cmon man. Anisimov if you paid attention to the games, he literally had no role on the team. He looked lost out there without 2 elite wingers on his line. I’ll take smith with a role over anisimov being put on the ice because we had no cap any day of the week. Let’s not forget most of his goals were reflections on pp. also trash at faceoffs

Letang, Ian cole, Schultz, Trevor Daley, dumoulin, maatta, etc isn’t terrible at all so I’ll assume you are referring to the 90’s. Vegas over performed, and I point you to the blues, the capitals, both pen cups, hawks 3 cups, Kings 2 with doughty, Martinez, muzzin, etc. that defense wont win you playoff series

Do you think they should just trade laine get all they can for him, maybe get a top 2 D included in a package? Because they can’t afford having that defense you made the next year

That defense tho... plus the big man buff may leave when that contract is up too. That depth in the bottom 6 too... that’s a lot to sacrifice. I think you did the best you could with the situation though. Just kinda shows even if things went Winnipeg’s way that team is not a cup winner

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>Next year will be some tough decisions. Do you keep pionk or niku? Both of whom are poised to have good seasons as potential top 4 d-men
Do you keep locker room glue Lowry? Or the more talented and versatile copp?
What do you do with Stanley if he doesn’t make the team?
How much will JoMo get?. 8x8? I don’t think so. Maybe 8x 7.6?
I’ll do both seasons and hen paste the link. Maybe getting a jets fans’ view will help</div></div>
Yes I’d like to see it!

Sure, but damn that is a good deal for the team to have. He is underrated in my opinion. They have to keep some depth. Ask the hawks how important depth is. They have to find another way

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>I think you could add a prospect like harkins and do without the rentention. Also don’t sign all these UFA’s. Vesalainen is 3lw, roslovic 3Rw and little and copp ar 2/3C (whichever one works best) appleton and 1 UFA like lindberg would be enough
I also don’t think that Connor will get 8. On 6 years I think that 7.5 is the most he gets. Boeser is reportedly asking 7 on mid term. So as 2 years and 7.5 (while boeser is better)</div></div>
I don’t disagree with that. That isn’t far off what he deserves

Winnipeg has lost so much and their best bet to keep a team together is giving him a 3 year deal and god forbid he lights it up then have to drop everything for him? They might as well trade him now if that’s the case

That’s assuming he accepts such a small term. I guarantee you a team like Montreal would throw 10m at him easy and do what they can to fit him in.

There is no reason for the Kings to do most of this. Might as well let kovy walk. He isn’t waiving and no one will want him. If you want to rebuild, you trade Kopitar, quick, doughty, etc.

It’s a cap world. If no one else can step up and be a leader when you have Kane, toews, saad, Keith, etc then that’s the real problem. Seabrook needs to go</div></div>

Kapenan and Johnsson will get more than that. Also even with these moves with very favorable contracts to the leafs, you still don’t have enough cap space to fill a 23 man roster. Leafs are in trouble
