Leaf trade ideas From an outsider Nucks Fan

All I can say from watching Treliving in Calgary, anything is possible.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tmljk22</b></div><div>Powerplay solves are a lot easier with competent coaching staff, no need to shell out your most promising young offensive player (which has notoriously struggled in the playoffs) for a PP quarterback</div></div>
He's not just a PP quarterback, he's a top pairing dman that has 50 point upside every year. There is value in that. How many RHD score 50 points each season?

I sure did, looks like a great young player, but your also getting a top pairing dman back, that can play on your top PP for 6-7 years. So there's that.

Leaf trade ideas From an outsider Nucks Fan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tmljk22</b></div><div>Let's start with Marner, yes he will be expiring but any deal he's included in will be essentially his choice and will likely come with an extension since he has a full NMC which of course would lower his value slightly. Despite this, he's still a 90-100 point winger that is consistently in Selke conversations.
The two most comparable trade situations would be Eichel to Vegas and Tkatchuk to Florida.
Eichel to Vegas: Tuch + Krebs + 1st + Second
Tkatchuk to Florida: Weegar + Huberdeau
The trade you proposed is significantly lesser than both of those deals with the issue being Borgen who is pretty much a filler as hes a 27 y/o bottom pairing defenseman on a non-playoff team.
I think Seattle if Marner was willing to waive would be a great destination but I think any deal likely starts with one of Dunn, Larsson, or Oleksiak with one of Bjorstrand or McCann.</div></div>
Borgen had a very good season. He had 25 points, more than both Larsson and Oleksiak. He would have been 1 point behind Brodie for 3rd place on your team in D scoring. I have watched him tons on the Westcoast. If I had my choice out of Larsson, Oleksiak or Borgen, I would be going with Borgen, way more upside.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tmljk22</b></div><div>Think Leafs would expect much better out of a deal with Seattle.</div></div>
I don't know man. You get a forward who was an all star this year, a young rugged rhd on a good contract, plus a 1st and 3rd. On top of that, you gain a bit of cap space, pretty good return imo. Marner is expiring after this year as well, so that probably lowers his value.

I think Nucks say no, because Marner has one year left and Liljegren is pretty meh.
Knies, Jarnkrok and a 1st for Hronek, Podz seems fair.

Maybe. But, watching the Leafs play, they definitely could use a 50 point puck moving rhd to command that top PP. Losing Knies probably hurts you guys, but I think this helps both teams target some areas.

Marner Trade that Actually Works
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Steve_321</b></div><div>I have heard of them my Canuck friend.
If Shanahan is as stubborn as the leafs fan base trolling this board - which is possible - then marner will play out the year and walk to free agency, and then he will be gone for nothing. the leafs cannot resign him at 10+ and build a roster that wins. In addition, he has a full NMC - so what can he realistically return? Most of you are unfortunately terribly ill informed or illogical… this guy will not fetch more than a late first rounder. And I argue that retained Anderson is worth that if he rebounds - I concede that is debatable.</div></div>
Your homerism is deluded. I'm a Nucks Fan, although Marner won't fetch as much as he could if he had term, he is still a very good player.
I suggested the Kraken trade Bjorkstrand,Borgen and a 2025 first for him. I think that makes sense for both teams.

Marner moves
The only way I see the Leafs winning is if they create more depth.
I think Kraken make a lot of sense for a trade suitor as well.
I thought something along the lines of
Bjorkstrand, Borgen and a 1st probably 2025, since Marner only has one year left I'd imagine he doesn't have as much trade value as some would think.
This would spread the money out a little bit and give them more Cap space, while also adding a 1st to use to either acquire other talent or continue building their farm. Makes sense to me.

I like how you said this was a Marner proposal that actually works LOL
I'm a nucks fan and hate the Leafs, but this is straight up lunacy.
Marner an elite winger on any team and you think J.Anderson is reasonable. The guy can barely stay healthy. That's going to be a buy out contract at some point.

You have to get to the Cap Floor, so there's that and Mikheyev actually isn't a bad player. He is overpaid by about a 1-1.5 million, but you will still be able to get value for him in a years time, when you trade him again. He isn't trapped in a grossly long contract.

And who said we want to trade Dach lol? We know his value isn’t at his highest right now. But it’s higher than that package. It’s probably around what we paid for him. If you want him, you would have to massively overpay. I’m talking Lekkerimaki, Hoglander and a first</div></div>
Lol Hoglander who is on pace for 25 goals this season, Lekkerimaki who won the U20 tournament MVP, as well as his teams MVP in the SHL and a first for Dach, who hasn't had a 40 point season and is coming off major surgery? Lol funny

Podkolzin still has middle six winger upside. Suter - I wouldn't exactly classify a guy who has 26 points over 60 games, while playing great defensively all at a 1.6 cap hit no value and Silovs has starting goalie upside.
Dach has great upside, but coming off an ACL tear, there is risk In trading him. So for you guys to be expecting multiple first round picks for a guy who hasn't broke the 40 point plateau is a bit of overvaluing.
