Meh never said was trying to be the best. These just happen to be players that came to my head as playing the style of hockey I enjoy playing and watching which is forecheck and be annoying while still have the ability to score goals.

Blackwood is a 3rd goalie and was probably the first 1 I came to the chances he sees anytime is very minimal and could replace him but meh...
As far as the skaters from watching games played they are in the forwards are all very good at getting in on the forecheck and creating pressure on the opposing team to get the puck out besides Line 1.
The defensemen are all above average at puck moving while being solid defenders not great by any means, but they are capable in their own end.
Jarry is definitely a biased opinion, but he's an above average goalie

I do not think Sprong is the right fit for Pittsburgh as he'd be in a bottom 6 role and doesn't provide much defensively...... main reason he was traded to Anaheim we didn't have the top 6 role necessary for him at the time and still don't. While he fetches a 2nd from somewhere if traded it won't be Pittsburgh

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AStovetop</b></div><div>I think 3-5 is pretty accurate. It's really dependent on how the fringe NHL prospects pan out. If Eklund, Shakir, Robins, Bordeleau, Gushchin, Thrun show that they can be impact players in this season or next, then you'll have them + The vets who are still quality players (Hertl & Couture) + REALLY high quality prospects entering the league (Smith, Musty, top five 2024 pick)
They have a lot of really good depth pieces currently but the issue is they lack the high end quality</div></div>
Its possible to see 3 year turn around if everything works out to the high end of things. If everything falls into place which is why speculation is fun, but as a wise man once said..... impossible the future is to predict

? Not sure who Quinn is unless its Priester, but if it is referring to Priester I think he's at best a 4th-5th starter. I think the whole Pirates coaching staff should be purged besides Donnie Kelly (Should be manager) Oscar Marin and the base coaches. Everyone else gonzo though. Also Nutting needs to open up his checkbook at somepoint.

It’s weird to want losses this year but damn I want one of the top 2 picks in this years draft!</div></div>
It is a weird feeling indeed...... I'm semi used to it from the baseball side of life lmao ended up working out decently for my Buccos...... Now lets just hope they somehow get smart enough to move on from the coaching staff and sign these good young studs long term (I know it ain't happening but a man can dream)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>I 100% agree and this is very hypothetical.
But if the sharks get the 1st OA (it’s very likely but you know how the lottery works lol) then having Celebrini and Smith Eklund as a young 2nd line would be exciting, and with 30-40 mil to spend a top line RW, 1st pair RD, and starting Goalie should be a reasonable hope for a FA pool pickup in 24 and 25 off seasons.
Add that kind of firepower and this team could make a pretty solid rebound.</div></div>
For sure, any team that finishes that low that wins the lottery will have their "rebuild" sped up by a year or 2.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>3 years is more accurate! Sharks are likely to be a bottom 3 team this year and get likely 3 1sts (NJD likely make ECF)
Add those picks plus our high 2nd to an already close to if not top 10 prospect pool and sharks will have what should be a top 5 prospect pool. Add to that 40 mil likely to spend in FA and the sharks have the potential to take big steps in 24/25 and have the potential to be in the mix for the playoffs by 25/26 season.</div></div>
Its possible, but it also depends on the strides other teams make during that time. Given who ended up winning the lottery this year for Bedard the league will probably cater to them to get the newest star's team back to relevance. (Not that the league would ever help any franchise more than another cause that never happens)

First off you could at least spell Erik Karlsson's name right. Secondly, I believe that it will be closer to the 5 than the 3 for the rebuild.

Wouldn't even dream of offering a 37 going on 38 year old Blake Wheeler who hasn't been liked anywhere he has gone. Also don't think Pickering will be ready by next year though the year after different story so I'd rather hold onto one of Smith/Joseph instead of getting Dellandrea..... Also, I don't think 87 lets the front office let 59 walk away for nothing

what is left cap wise
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>So you're moving the goalposts now? How convenient.
Nothing you wrote disproves Edmonton as one of the deeper teams this year.</div></div>
I mean by setting the bar at 10 goals you are saying teams like St. Louis, San Jose, and Arizona had just as much depth as Vegas, Edmonton, LA, Seattle, Calgary, and Colorado in the west, and that they had more depth than Vancouver, Dallas, Minnesota, Winnipeg, and Nashville........ however if you look at 15+ goal scorers that is when these teams begin differentiating w/ the only team to make the Western playoffs with = 15 goal scorers as STL SJS and ARI (which btw STL and ARI had 5 and SJS had 6) was EDM with 5. And if you look across the entire league only 2 teams made the playoffs with less than 6 15+ goal scorers those teams were Edmonton and the Isles. The Isles have Sorokin and the Oilers have McDavid Draisaitl. That is the reason I moved the goalposts because it actually paints a more realistic picture.
While Edmonton does have more depth than other teams I would not classify it as one of the deeper teams.

Again as stated previously....... I doubt they rush him back to significant minutes since he hasn't played in a game in over a year......... training and practice is one thing every player will tell you they truly don't get you completely ready for game action

How does half the rebuttal not even apply? Outside of 2 of your 10 goal scorers (I just remembered you used 10 not 20 my apologies) the remainder are either soundly in the top 6 or no longer on the team it is literal facts. Also, 10 were really setting the bar at 10 goals? I know its not much more, but wouldn't 15 show more signs of depth... which if you look at VGK 7 players had over 15 and 3 were at 14 and also Barbashev was on pace scoring 6 in 23 (Which gave him 16 total for the year between VGK and STL)..... of those goal scorers 2 aren't with the team this upcoming year and they are all forwards too meaning you have 8 players with at least 15 goals scored compared to 8 with at least 10 which is better depth?

Foegele scored 2.09 P/60 last season (1st line rate)
McLeod scored 1.86 P/60 last season (2nd line rate)
Those 2 form the basis for one of the best 3rd lines in the league. As a comparison, in Pittsburgh only Crosby and Malkin scored at a higher rate than Foegele, and McLeod was virtually tied with Guentzel (1.87 P/60).
That's depth. And they're back.</div></div>
While I appreciate bringing my team into this as it is a fair counter argument...... I would expect one of those 2 to garner top 6 minutes with Connor Brown returning to game action after suffering an ACL tear (I'm not saying that Brown isn't good we don't know how well he is going to do coming off that surgery). So that takes one of them out of the bottom 6 and into top 6 time making the depth even more miniscule <strong>if</strong> Brown doesn't return to prior form.

Basically, do you have forwards who are currently in your bottom 6 lines that if needed to would have limited drop off if they played top 6 minutes. You look at the teams that end up winning it all they have that.
