Marner Again
Hard pass on that trade. TOR can keep him. there is also no way he waives to come to cbus. more than likely he wont waive at all and will just walk after next season.

Jackets pass on that. Not enough to interest us, we'll just hang on to him if this was our best offer.

Voronkov isnt available, especially for that package. I would be down for just a trade around Elvis for VV though.

Laine Norris Swap
Norris has way too much term and higher risk of continually being hurt. Laine is also just a better player. The swap really only make sense for OTT. You would have to add alot to Norris to even get the conversation started. Also no reason for the Jackets to include Tex.

Fair
Jackets arent doing that. To trade for KJ, you have to think more quality than quantity. If he were moved it would be a hockey trade for a player of similar age and potential. Multiple mid assets arent going to get it done.

Young wild and free
Jackets very easily decline. If Jiricek were made available, this package wouldnt get close. Doesnt matter though cause the Jackets have absolutely no reason to trade him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Birtle34</b></div><div>I’m a jets fan, so I understand, but ny or la stories like that probably don’t come near the radar.</div></div>
i disagree. take LA, i think if PLD all of a sudden sold his place in LA, it would be a story and you would see speculation that he intends to leave LA/request another trade. This is just sports journalists, they love making mountains out of molehills. Similar to where you see stories of young guys moving from their apartment near the arena to buying their own place is a sign they are sticking around.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Birtle34</b></div><div>Thought I read that he wasn’t returning to Columbus, but can’t find the article to quote it, all I could find was his condo was up for sale, now that’s some small town living, when house sales are making news</div></div>
he in the player assistance program. There has been no reports that hes not returning, just that basically no one knows what he wants. His condo going for sale is a story because hes a big name player that is away from the team and is selling the place he lives. He could just be moving to another part of town or it may be a sign he intends to leave columbus. Not sure how its small town living, more just sport journalist trying to find something to write about, i imagine if Tage entered the player assistance program and while in it put his house in Buffalo for sale, you would see articles about it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Birtle34</b></div><div>If you could clear the 8.7 and have an exciting ufa add to offset the negative of losing the value, might be interesting, but ya tough to speculate on what swings the deal and what comes back In cap. Gaudreau came to town, but will be interesting if he’s an anomaly or a trend. Always seem to pull for the underdog teams in sports until there good, then there off the radar lol. Big patriots fan for first championship, then moved on lol</div></div>
like i said i think the only way Laine is moved this offseason is if he comes back and demands a trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Birtle34</b></div><div>I was more on the trying to get laine out of town, but ya awfully tough on the value, and how bad or good that could turn on the ice. New gm might get a free pass, but probably doesn’t include the 27million of skinner on the return.</div></div>
oh yeah Laine is the tougher one cause we dont know when/if he will be back. If he does come back does he want to stay here or go somewhere else? just a lot of unknowns. His value is at its absolute lowest right now, so i think our new gm would realize there isnt much benefit to us to trade him at this low value. We are better off hoping he can regain some value or become a productive member of our lineup.

a new gm coming in and trading Jenner would be the dumbest move he could make. The fans would instantly hate them, you would see people demanding they be fired before the season even gets started.

Jackets easily say no. Jenner is not available and trading Laine at his lowest value makes no sense unless he comes out with a trade demand.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD25</b></div><div>I don’t care much for Boqvist. And I am always looking at the KJ trades assuming that there’s some bad blood with management</div></div>
There is no indication of bad blood. Just cause KJ was sent down, doesnt mean there was bad blood and all indications are that it helped him. He still needs to get stronger in order to realize his potential. Either way no way Habs would be getting these 3 pieces for their 1st. They could maybe get just KJ if he refused the extension/requested a trade and that was the best offer.

The only way Jackets do this is if you take away Boqvist and Brindley, then KJ would have to make a trade request and/or refuse to sign an extension.

Norris Laine Swap End of 2025
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>I agree, but if for some reason the new GM decided a buyout wasn't the best option, and they had to move on from Laine, I don't think this would be a bad trade. I think we have to go into next year assuming Elvis is gone one way or another. He's lost the starting job to Tarasov (when healthy) and may be behind Greaves on the depth chart shortly.</div></div>
I agree, but if the new GM thinks the better move is to swap Elvis for a worse goalie with a longer contract, then we chose the wrong GM and we are screwed anyway.
