Which I really hope aren't picked. Blizzard is probably the best out of the 3, but all feel like names of a EASHL team not an NHL team lol.
I like the idea of the Eagles, Stags, Alpines, Moose. Don't mind the idea of the Wolves either.

I want Buium, Yakemchuk I think he goes before our pick without a doubt because his size + right handed. Scouts eat that stuff up.
Don't know if I totally agree about Laughton. Flyers have been pretty clear they'll only trade Laughton if it's an "overpay", 1st + prospect is rumored ask, and they've been rumored to be offered a 1st + 2nd before. This is less than that imo. 1.) Top 16 Protection On Pick. 2.) I don't think Krebs has a ton of value at this point, I mean Zamula had more points than him in a good chunk less games. He's basically a reclamation project atp. I don't think Buffalo has the space for him to grow, and he's nearing the point where he's gonna have to start showing he can be a consistent top 9 producer, or he just won't be a valued part of any NHL teams future.
Ellis contract, I think they'd prefer too for flexibility but if it costs decently signifcant assets to do so then yea probably not.

I mean I do too tbh. Buium is just the guy I want most, I'd be willing to trade up if he falls past 6, even though top 10 pick trades are fairly uncommon. But I would feel really confident in the long term back end, mix of offense, elite skaters, pure hockey sense.
I think Catton has a fairly decent chance of being there at our pick. Eiserman I think goes top 10, I don't think NHL scouts will be as concerned about his flaws as others are, because the talent behind the flaws. He's moldable.

There could be limited picks added.
But reasoning behind why SJ would take Ellis, SJ will need to reach cap floor to be complaint. Ellis expires around the same time SJ is hopefully turning it around. I don't expect SJ to be huge players in the UFA -> Flip Market just because they don't have retention slots to faciliate deals, and SJ won't be a super appealing place rn to sign give there recent success, and I think the appetite to dump cap along with picks has severely dimished and will only continue to do so with cap's rise.

seriously doubt Philly dumps players. They'll just let them expire. I also think they'd prefer Frost over Kerfoot. If they move Frost it' likely gonna be in a move to make them significantl;y better.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NorthernLeafsFan05</b></div><div>Kind of a shame that Josh Doan won't be able to follow in his father's footsteps in the desert.
Also wonder if there will be a mass exodus of trade requests due to managerial distrust / not wanting to live in Utah. It'll be an interesting offseason, I only hope they have good jersey kits 🤞</div></div>
I've heard only really good things about Utah as a place. My dad has been too 48/50 states, and has always said Utah is in his top 5. And I think the distrust is of ownership and ownership will be new. not really management. Billy came clean to the players.
TBH, for the team this is a really good thing. Armstrong will have permissions to spend to cap, players will have a ownership that is dedicated to winning, Utah is pretty nice.
Sucks for the fans, I'm not sure what i'd do. I'd probably still root for the team because of the players, but it's certaintly depressing. it sounds like they'll get a team eventually again though, so they should have to wait too long.

2024 Mock Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>zk97</b></div><div>Not sure about Dickinson as the Hawks pick, I think Korchinski can be a first pair guy someday unless the Hawks screw up his development
Habs better take Demidov over Eiserman if he's available
I think Flames pick Iginla at 8 over Catton honestly, and the Devils get him instead at 9
If Habs go Demidov over Eiserman, then I think the Wild take Eiserman at their pick to round out their top six (JEE, Boldy, Kaprizov, Rossi, Yurov, Eiserman)
Flyers should pick Connelly because I think they're the best fit to fix him with their New Era of Orange</div></div>
I don't have that confidence in Korchinski. If develops well I see no more than a Travis Sanheim type which is ideally a 2nd pair dman. I just have a feeling they are high on Dickinson based off the trend on recent picks, which some draft pundits have also reported that they've heard they really like Dickinson. Are they really at a point in their rebuild to pick off position of need? They kinda need everything. If the pundits are right, I wouldn't be surprised to see them take Dickinson really high.
I could see the Flames picking Iginla trying to have a tad more confidence in Conroy to not go for organization ties though. They really need a center. And it's sparse after Catton. Center is muich more important than Wing.
Wild made sense for Iginla too me because--there's no centers, and Guerin drafted Stramel last year because of his size, physical traits. Tij is smaller, but actually plays big, could be the physical beast they want to add.
Chose Hage over Connelly because Hage is a Center and imo has more upside than he's gotten credit for, which is the biggest hole in our Pool rn. Skates well, confident, can generate scoring chances with his legs, shot or, playmaking ability. He's also hardly putting up less numbers than Connelly. With Connelly it's less so the fixing him, it's more-so the press that comes with taking him.

If it means being able to keep Guentzel, sure it could be considered. Not totally sure what their cap situation looks like rn know they have a ton of UFA's tho so it will be interesting. I would want the Flyers to jump all over that if he became a UFA.

Grier is under appreciated for what he has done so far
Agreed. I think Grier's done a solid job tbh, the team needed gutted -- one of few cases wear a tear down is absolutely neccesary -- when he took over they had a lacking pool of prospects, tons of bloated contracts, and the good players they did have had very little chance of ever playing consistent competetive hockey with the Sharks again because the roster built around the few good players was poor.
People tend to dump on the guy because of their unrealistic expectation on trade returns. Which I don't get because if they hadn't traded players soon, they would've ended up with nothing and had nothing to build on for a actual future. 2.) If there was a better trade offer available they would've taken it. 3.) They were trading 30+ year old with term and 8m plus on their contract.
I mean Wilson handicapped the hell out of them. Couture even said "I wasn't traded because my contract sucks" lol.
Now there is definitely a 2nd step to the process, he has to draft well manage the cap well. Get a coach that can develop young players, but he so far he's done pretty much what he was supposed to do.
Get Younger, Get rid of long term cap, acquire assets, take shots on reclamation projects or low risk oppurtunities. Zadina -- which sure hasn't totally worked out, then Graf - who if works out Grier looks like a genius, and if not, no harm done.

His buyout is stupid good for them and with the Kuznetsov trade they have a replacement and lets be real his 4m it can be better used elsewhere
Like its basically 8 years of 835k and 4 years of 455k cap hit for CAR</div></div>
They might depending on how desperate they are for money, idk if I really expect them to tho. They have sometime before he turns 26 and his buyout goes from a 1/3 cost to a 2/3 cost. I personally think they should wait. If KK can be the player he was last year, and at the start of this year his contract isn't a bad one with where the cap is headed.
