Building Another Cup Champion - Keeping the RFAs
Ok I'll stop you here, maybe the 2021 1st for Killorn but definitely not the 2020 1st.
With Hank hitting UFA I could see him going to 2 places to be with friends, Tampa (for McDonagh) and Minnesota (for Zuccarello).
I could see WPG inquiring about McElhinny, maybe Vegas. Bot San Jose though, they are looking for a starter/1A
Jets would probably also have interest in Johnson for 2C, the question is whether or not he will waive to Canada.
Sergachev contract is nice, you can probably get Cernak for less with 1-2 year deal and probably too much for Bogo. Also please don't resign Rutta, he's a train wreck. Use that extra cap space to pay Cirelli for a 4th year.
Coburn hopefully waives for actual ice time somewhere because he wont get it in Tampa, worst case he's put on waivers and he's picked up for free by someone.
Stammer will probably play 2LW with Cirelli and I wouldnt separate our 3rd line from the playoffs. I would really love to inquire about Bobby Ryan to play on the right of Cirelli if he doesnt cost too much.
Unfortunately Maroon is probably gone but I would love to have him back again

There's been talk of Yzerman pursuing Killorn as well. Probably tons of teams looking at Killorn.

How about that Cup Celebration last night and Tampa moves
RFA do team friendly deals. Cirelli and Serg 4.5 3 years. Cernak 2.5 3 years. You now have 16 players signed and 1.5 million in space. What is the next move?

Some ideas
Keep Gourde, move Johnson. Dont need Simmonds, too much for Bogo. Use that extra 1M to get another year from Sergachev

And now the fun begins
Dude, at least enjoy the parade before you start worrying about this stuff! Coming from a Kings fan, enjoy it while it lasts. It can disappear quickly.
Congrats to the Bolts, well deserved win! One of the best teams I've seen iced in the past decade+, and that's without a 50 goal scorer. Incredible run.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BOLTLOVER1</b></div><div>OBVIOUSLY Johnson and Gourde are the big issues on team contract wise .. I like Paquette as 4C and PK and 1.5M should be digestable.. issue next year is more replacing Shatterkirk who has been a GODSEND this year .. in both durability and performance.
As side note .. Goodrow's stat line last night.. 16 mins .. over 2mins PK .. 4 shots on goal .. 6 hits .. 8/11 face offs and 65% offensive zone time .. wow .. THAT is what we traded from.. Coleman is starting to gel with Cirelli and Killorn on 2nd line .. that could be our make or break line in playoffs</div></div>
And Tampa fans Didn’t trust me when I said Goodrow was a lot better than just a typical fourth liner

NHL was quite different in many ways in 2004... Even the game itself has changed.

He's absolutely solid defensively, fast and scores on extremely high rate for a defensive forward.
He's pretty much what Bergeron was at the beginning of his career...

Its certainly looking that way. Killorn has been really good. Get the feeling he's playing like its a contract year, like he doesnt want to get moved. Him and Palat have been the best of the 4. Johnson has been ok in small stints. Gourde has never been a $5million forward.
I would rather lose Serg and get a decent return and a couple of highish is picks than lose Killorn and Paquette. Paquette is now playing for his job with Goodrow and Coleman in the lineup.
Question for you though. I know you don't like him. But do you think Johnson deserved the contract he got when he signed it?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>Move Serg. He'll get a larger return. His contract demands have to be higher too. Cernak and the wya he plays is very underrated Cal Foote would be well suited next to Cernak.</div></div>
That gives you 2 righties and Hedman McD two lefties. Cernak isnt great on his off side.

Both Rutta and Cernak are currently out injuried. It's a depth signing without having to give up any assets.
I like the move.

apparently they are in the mix
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AJM2466</b></div><div>"When a team trades a player, they have the option to retain a part of their salary (and cap hit). The team who retains the salary then pays the retained percentage of the salary, and also retains the percentage of the cap hit until the contract expires. The following requirements must be met to retain salary:
<strong>The percentage retained cannot exceed 50 percent of the player’s salary (including all bonuses) and Salary Cap Hit.</strong>
The same percentage must be retained for both the player’s salary and Salary Cap Hit, and cannot be modified.
All teams are limited to a maximum of 3 retained salary contracts per season.
Teams cannot retain an aggregate amount of more than 15 percent of the Salary Cap Upper Limit.
Players’ contracts are limited to 2 retained salary transactions per contract."</div></div>
Colorado has already retained 50%. Can't be retained anymore

Petry to Tampa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Not a good plan, Gourde has picked up his game recently, Paquette is an important depth piece, and Cernak is almost as good as Petry</div></div>
Not the right pieces for Habs. Taylor Raddysh and Alex Barre-Boulet -- a grinder and a scorer -- would be two prospects that would make more sense. And, please stop. Cernak is not "almost as good as Petry." That's a ridiculous statement. One has 11 points on a team that mills scoring chances and the other has 37 on an offensively mediocre squad.

Something based on the other Foote brother + 1st for Petry? I feel like TBL would have to add a lot more thought because RHD have more value and the price seems to be steep at this TDL
Petry has an extra year like Coleman so it gives a 2 year window for TBL.

WTF IS WRONG WITH BRISEBOIS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BurgerBoss</b></div><div>Bah.
That amount of value should've brought a lot better return...</div></div>
After the sticker shock you realize you are getting:
- one of the best contracts in the league
- a guy who can score (5v5 goals production similar to Eichel, Kucherov and other stars)
- a guy that has a shot rate per 60 second only to Ovie
- a guy with 166 hits so far this season (most of any Lightning player currently)
- one of the best PKers in the league
He's essentially exactly what TB should have been after.
Tampa gave quite a lot to get him, but I genuinely feel like there was no better player the Bolts could add. This guy is the **** we've been missing in the last playoff runs, but has great skills to go with it.
And the fact that he only has a 1.8M cap hit while being a replacement and upgrade to Killorn, will make it very easy to move him this summer.
My first reaction was WTF, but the more I calmly think about this trade, the more I like it.

You got the trade partner right, but not the players. Haha. I guess 1 in 10 worked.(not that much teams in the nhl who would trade with us- other contenders never trade with us for example or teams who dont have expiring UFA etc...). It's usually the rangers our best partner... looks like we stayed in new york...
