I'm not on board the Ferland-Canucks hype train - imo he's too slow to be a first-liner. I see him as a very good bottom-6 player (as well as a net presence on the power play), he has a great shot, great hands and he's big and tough. I think Chris Kreider is a much more beneficial add for Vancouver, as he is the definition of a complete 200-foot player. He is also a SUPER hard-working player, and if I'm correct is an alternate captain. He doesn't have any weak areas in his game, and his blend of speed, skill, hockey IQ and grit/toughness would be, in my opinion, a PERFECT fit with Boeser and Pettersson. Kreider will not come cheap, as the Nucks would likely have to kiss a first and a prospect goodbye, but his skill set, style and age makes him (what I think is) about as perfect of a fit as you'll ever find.

What if they also did this...
Tyler Myers was traded, freeing up enough cap to acquire Mark Stone at 50% retention. Trade for Nick Jensen - this should cost a third round pick. Jensen is a very mobile, efficient and reliable defenceman who is great at clearing the zone and is effective with stick work defensively, great passing and very hard work in battles. He is also a seemingly fearless shot blocker and is great on a bottom pair. I as a wings fan have seen him a lot and personaly really like him (he's improved a lot since last year). He can play either side and could survive even on the top pair in case of injury.
Jensen takes Myers' spot on the bottom pair - Mark Stone goes as the 2nd line RW. Little as the 3C, Lowry as the 4C.

I do really like the trades you made here, though. They are both very good trades. Very fair value and they fill the two needs for the Jets. With your trade, they're definitely the Cup favourites in my books. Very well done with the lines as well (though I may separate Little & Laine).

Could the Isles entice Tavares to return?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>Just as unlikely that the Caps don't match a 30M offer to Carlson. They gave more than that to Orpik, when he was considerably older. Now, could the Isles package Boychuck with picks and prospects to Washington this summer for Carlson's negotiating rights? Sure! But even then, that contract won't happen for someone who's top five in points and minutes among defensemen, while starting only 44% of his shifts ahead of the red line this year. The cap hit? Maybe. But not for just four years.
On the bright side, your Tavares deal looks fine, and as much as the player might pressure the team to improve, moving is stressful. Starting a new job with a new company is stressful. If the Islanders have cap space to match reasonable offers, they have a good chance of keeping their franchise player.</div></div>
The caps can't match the offer. They don't have enough space to do so. However, Carlson has a negative +/- on a team with a pretty good goal differential so it does slightly hurt his stock. Maybe 7-8 years was better on the Carlson deal, but I believe with these upgrades Tavares would love to stay

Interesting Trade and a New “Dad”
These trades seem fair for sure. But I think that a defensive upgrade is More important than a 3C as either Guentzel or Sheary can do that. I think the sharp trade is really good as well.

If the NHL went to the Olympics- Sweden
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Cartler</b></div><div>Six of the forwards you've selected would not make the team, maybe seven regarding the role you see Nyquist in.
The Sedins are out, they aren't fast enough to play on the larger ice and being productive.
Zetterberg, Eriksson and Steen are good players but we don't have the room up front (maybe Zetterberg can center a third line) and you don't bring these guys to play bottom 6 and extra forward.
Wennberg would make the team but he's injured and out.
I see you're leaving out both Silfverberg and Hampus Lindholm. Silfverberg is in, no doubt.
Lindholm is a hard guy to reject, I'd put a lefthanded on a right side and remove Strålman or Larsson instead. Lindholm is better then both of them.</div></div>
Lol I was half asleep when I made this and I missed those 2. I'd say Larsson, based on his numbers, is really good in a defensive role. I think the Sedins would be really hard to exclude as they are still playing quite well and would be really valuable. But silverberg is definitely better than Eriksson and Nyquist. I'll insert them in

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claebom</b></div><div>That Price trade is pretty bad; he's not even remotely close to that valuable, especially since his contract is so bad. Also, Patches can fetch a hell of a lot more than just Bennett.</div></div> Price is still a top-3 goalie at least. Pacioretty for Bennett is pretty even as I find Bennett to be quite underrated. He's only 21. He has a ton of upside.

It's basically 3 1st lines at that point for the jets lol. I don't think he's proven to be worth more than that lately although he's playing with nobody.

Maybe switch the picks. For these players Detroit would have to pay more, especially to move Ericsson"s terrible contract and his inability to play better than the Gordie Howe statue outside the arena
