Filling in the Gaps
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>Agree to disagree. Grzelcyk can be a #3 D and I don't think you realize Keith has seriously declined over the years, it's just the Hawks that keep playing him on the first pair because they have no one else.
If CGY doesn't want to give up Hanifin, pass. As I said, he's been in the NHL for 5 years and he's still nothing more than a second pair D. You don't overpay for this kind of player.</div></div>
Thats fair. I suppose we'll find out in the coming years now that Grz has just resigned with us for 4 more years lol
I think Keith looks worse in front of a depleted Hawks team and average goal tending. Put him on a solid team like this and he could be an asset. Curious to see what he goes for when he finally does get traded.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>Hall was getting that or close to it wherever he signed. He turned fown 7 x 7.5 from Zona. He signed in Buffalo to play with Eichel and hoping to have a monster season stat wise and boost his value next year while hoping for better financial situation for the NHL in general.
Hoffman not taking 50 cents on the dollar. He may not be able to get the long term big $ deal he wants this year. But he’s not going to leave a couple of mil on the table either.</div></div>
I didn't realize you were so close to the Hoffman camp and understood his desire for money is greater than a chance to be on a true cup contender for a bit less. It's a hypothetical scenario that only works if he's willing to take the cut. Obviously its unlikely but not a impossible scenario given the market. Fin.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>Perry isn't needed, we have Wagner and Kuhlman for RW4.
This is a massive overpay for Hanifin, he's a top4 D, not a first pair or elite. Rather have Grzelcyk.
Keith has an NMC but most importantly, he's 37 and don't give up Vaakanainen+2nd+Bjork for him, it's too much.
I'm not a fan of Killorn but whatever
Bruins have Studnicka, Senyshyn, Hughes, Frederic Lauzon, Zboril that need some playing time in the NHL or at least have a chance to show what they can do. Now you're acquiring too much players and they're blocked from that opportunity. Also looks like management will let them have a chance.</div></div>
Bruins should be in win now mode. The only player who has shown enough high end skill to crack the roster is Studnicka. Injuries will happen and he's the candidate i would have called up every time to slot a top 6 role. Unfortunately the others haven't shown enough in the AHL to make more of an impact than the players who are cracking the lineup.
The slight over payment for Hanifin is because Calgary probably doesn't even want to give him away. There has to be incentive. Hanifin is a better, younger defense man with more upside...Grz isn't a top pairing dman candidate. He's a solid 4 or 5 with potential but not enough. Between those guys i'm taking Hanifin every time.
Keith is 3 time stanley cup winner and still can play in a solid top 4 role and just eat up minutes. Currently something the Bruins don't have. You want a guy with that much experience on your roster when it matters. Bjork is a middle 6 player, Vak is unproven but top 4 potential, and the pick is the play that really gets the deal done.
I personally don't care much for Killorn either but the guy can play and some of that grit and scoring he has is exactly that kind of element the Bruins want.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>Hall did not sign for half his worth. I expected Hall to do what was best for Hall, he’s incredibly selfish.
Perry did not do all that much in regular season. I don’t put much stock in small sample sizes. It’s wasting precious cap space to fix an area that does not need fixing.</div></div>
Hall signed a 1 year deal with a team thats unlikely to make the playoffs based on their moves so far. He got that money because he didn't sign with a contender. The scenario is entirely based on if Hoffman has a want to play with a contender for about half of what a flat cap salary market will give him.
For the entirety of a playoff run, as in getting to game 6 of the Stanley cup finals, Perry scored when it mattered and energized the team (which is exactly what you want from your 4th liners). He had 21 points in 57 games in the regular season...Wagner and Khulman had 16pts put together...that means he's an upgrade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hedman77</b></div><div>Hoffman can get at least double that on the open market</div></div>
He could...Probably even almost triple. This scenario is if clubs aren't willing to pay that price with the flat cap and he wants a 1 year deal with a contender.

Thats fair. It would put y'all quite close to the cap. That being said it gives the club another solid young winger (DeBrusk) though who can play both sides and a cheaper replacement (Grz) for Hanifin.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jasalex</b></div><div>Easy no from tampa. Killorn not a salary dump a very good two way power forward. Worth a second rounder. Then you add insult to injury by having Tampa retain 1.25 in salary.</div></div>
You obviously didn't read the entirety of the post.
Killorn, Johnson, and Gourd (or a combination) become not only expandable but necessary salary dumps as long as you want Sergachev, Cirelli, and Cernak to play next year because it seems highly improbable their taking major discounts given all 3 of their years.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BulinWall</b></div><div>lol every player from tampa isn't a salary dump they're cup winners and cooper was rolling 4 lines. Our 2nd line was the best 2nd line just as our 1st, 3rd, and 4th lines were the best lines in the playoffs. Can't just take a 4th for KIllorn</div></div>
Killorn is absolutely worth more than a 4th. He's honestly probably worth a first at a trade deadline but unless you don't want your RFAs playing next year (Sergachev, Cirelli, and Cernak) then your team needs to dump cap. Teams aren't and shouldn't be willing to help Tampa. That being said it was a bit of wishful thinking to believe Tampa would chose Boston as a trade partner.

This is a fair criticism. At this point I'd ship Ritchie out for anything but Nashville does need wingers and it looked like they were trying to get tougher from their signings and Ritchie has a cheap cap hit.

Thats extremely intriguing. Idk if the Bruins could afford his whole cap hit but by not doing the Keith trade and assuming Calgary wouldn't also trade Hanifin over then yeah i think i would. Gio instantly becomes your best dman and would love to see him and McAvoy together

Don’t want or need Perry.
Want no part of Keith.
Not moving Grizz to add Noah, defeats the purpose.
TB declines</div></div>
Just like Taylor Hall would never sign in Buffalo? I don't think its out of the realm of possibility considering the leagues flat cap issue. I'll give you that TB probably would decline the deal but either way they have RFAs that need contracts and no cap space. Hanifin is a better, younger defense man with more upside...Grz isn't a fit for a top pairing D. Did you watch the cup finals and what Perry was doing for his team??? Perry still has skill, he agitates, and would be an upgrade from both wags and khulman.
