Not especially tall - but big body who takes up a ton of net
Tracks well. Almost never outside his posts. Rebound control is strong. Rarely provides many second chances against. Good gloves. Crease composure / positioning allows pucks to find him through screens. Battles. Trending up.
At the WJC in Gothenburg he ended with a 1.75 GAA and .936 save percentage.

Ended 2023 season on a high note by winning U18 Gold Medal as the #1G for Team USA, before being selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2nd round of the NHL entry draft in Nashville.
Entering first year of college at Michigan State. A proven winner. Compact frame. Stocky.
Tracks very well from side to side. Aggressive pushing and making stops off the flank and back post. Battles to find pucks in traffic. Sound rebound control. Good gloves. Plays the puck well. Has the ability to outlet long range when opponents are changing.

Augustine was excellent for Team USA at the U18 Worlds to end the 22/23 year
Came up with timely stops in the Gold Medal game vs Sweden - including game savers late in regulation with Sweden on the PP

Stats at U18's were elite 6GP - .938 % - 1.61GAA - Understated important role for Team USA

Got the start versus Latvia in Game #1 of WJC
Not overly busy but he was focused till the final whistle
One goal against from long range, through traffic, that he could have positioned himself better at the top of his crease
Crease composure, overall, was sound. Continues to track laterally / post to post very well
He will benefit from the WJC experience

Butterfly / Athletic
Good feet. Moves well laterally.
Reads the play and challenges shooter in high danger areas.
Second stop compete is excellent. Rebound control generally reliable.
At times he does get sitting too low in his butterfly / opening up space over his shoulders in process. Overall he's an athletic, competitive, mostly structured goalie with NHL upside.
