Levshunov led the Spartans in scoring as a freshman defenceman. In thirty-six games, before the NCAA tournament, he produced 9G - 25A. Levshunov is a coveted right-shot defenceman. He's very active offensively, pinching down to extend plays and jumping into the rush every time he's identifies an opportunity. His defensive zone detail is a work in progress, but he has posted a (+26) rating so far this season.

Used in all situations. Even more active offensively. Jumped down to extend plays in the offensive zone almost every shift. Literally calls for the puck all night long. Wants to make an impact offensively.
Great jump. Skating is fantastic. Great first three strides. Outstanding feet overall.
Used in all situations. Like any young defenceman playing at the college level he had a few shifts that lacked some detail. He found himself on the wrong side of his man out front his crease and on the back check with some late zone exits.
Overall - can't teach offense / size / puck touch and compete. He wants to be a difference maker and also adds a physical element.
Easily logging over 22:00 TOI per game. 29GP - 8G-20A and a fantastic (+24) defensively.

Levshunov is off to a fantastic start this season. It's a difficult ask for a defenceman who's only 18 years young to take a regular shift at the NCAA level. Artyom isn't shy about directing pucks on net. He's been credited with 31 shots on goal and contributed 4g-8a. He's also a (+13).
Levshunov is a solid skater with room to improve his small area escapes and agility (walking the offensive blue line for example). But he doesn't cut corners in any zone, leans on opponents, and plays with a presence. He could end up finding a home as a top pairing NHL 'D' in time.
