Kuzmenko continues to struggle to earn the trust of the Vancouver Canucks coaching staff.
The bar has been set in Vancouver, and clearly there is a disconnect between what the player provides and what the organization wants him to be.
Easily defined. Has, historically, been a streaky scorer dating back to his time in Russia (KHL)
Somewhat of a PP specialist - rips pucks from the weak side flank and can be NHL goalies clean from range. Hard to knock off the play around opponents net and below the goal line. Average plus skater. Average three zone detail. Element is offense.
Not likely to change his stripes. A 3F / 2F at even strength but a 1st unit PP contributor.
Has to be accepted for what he is and how he goes about his business. Proven he can score.

In his last five game segment, when dressed, from (November 30th - December 9th) his averaged TOI went from 17:27 to 10:36 - but his time on the PP did not fluctuate - averaged around 3:00 - 4:30 per game depending on penalties.
Has never been a player who will play the game with consistent three zone detail and effort off the puck. Picks his spots playing fast. Streaky dating back to his days playing for St.Petersburg in the KHL. He can test a coaches patience but he's a great team mate who's far from the most irresponsible offensive player in the league.
Element is offense. As long as he is average defensively his element wins out overall.

Does not PK. Does not play with a ton of physicality. Leans on people but isn't punishing.
Picks his spots playing fast. He's capable off the rush but doesn't consistently drive play in transition. Fantastic release. Best work comes from the hash marks down in the offensive zone. Especially proficient around the crease / tips / rebounds / finding second chances
Ability to rip pucks from the weak side flank on the PP

Pure offense. Used at ES, PP#1, 4vs4. Does not PK. Historically he had averaged 0.65 ppg before this season. His output nearly doubled based on his past. Potential top 6 role at the NHL level. Fantastic vision on the PP. Makes plays below the goal line and around the crease. Can play fast but picks his spots. Rarely plays with physical push back. His three zone detail and effort off the puck will need improvement. Team that signs him is banking on offense.

A high end offensive talent currently playing in the KHL
Historically he had averaged 0.65 PPG coming into this season but has spiked to 1.15
Skates well. Agile.
Can play quick and fast but picks his spots
His effort and detail away from the puck is going to have to improve if and when he comes to the NHL
On the PP he has a unique style of making plays from below the goal line before moving net front for tips and rebounds
A sturdy build. He can handle weight from defenders. Plenty strong when engaged.
There is absolutely no question this is a gifted player offensively. What he brings is a potentially elite element that can slide into a top 6 role.
He will be used at ES, 4vs4, in OT, Shootouts, and especially on the PP
