The Top 10 Draft Busts of 2011

Description
For the purposes of this post, a draft bust is "a highly touted or highly selected draftee that does not meet expectations".


Rankings are based on how high the draft bust was selected.


If there is still hope for a draft pick from 2011 to turn things around, they are not included.


In order to officially declare a player as a bust, at least 5 years must have elapsed from the day of the draft in which such player was selected.


That means any decision on declaring a player that was drafted in 2017 or later would be premature.



Since more than 10 years have elapsed since this draft, one indicator that will be used to determine if a player is a bust is the # of NHL games played since the draft.

Baertschi being here is a bit unfair. He was a solid player for a couple of years when he was a Canuck, but they were so trash that no one really noticed even when he almost got 20 goals one year. Combine that with injuries occurring right when Pettersson and Boeser were starting up and Green practically gave up on him after.

Of all the players in my Top 10 draft bust lists, he's probably one where you can make the case that he doesn't belong on the list.


With that said, Nail Yakupov is widely viewed as a bust, but he was somewhat productive when the Oilers were trash.

I couldn't have it both ways.
