Hornqvist would be sorely missed but it seems fair and addresses both teams needs

im all for it as a pens fan. if Bennett can prove to be a good 2C then it makes sense for flames aswell.

I think position wise it would be a good fit for both teams it just concerns me about the the 2nd rounder added given that Backlund is a UFA after this season. Maybe a 3rd or mid-level prospect instead.

I’d take that deal in a heartbeat. Both are UFA’s. Both are dealing from a position of strength and obtaining their position of weakness. It just makes too much sense. As much as I love Hornqvist, he is a 3rd line RW making over 4 mil. It saves us a tiny bit of cap space too. The only thing for the pens is that they would have to hope Hagelin could go back to HBK Hagelin form and produce. Otherwise you are gonna have almost no production from the 2nd line LW. But it’s a chance I’d take.
