if the NHL Screws the leafs. As you can see there is no need to buy him out. Buying him out means we will have to take a cap hit next season from his contract. If we just let him ride it out this season. He is a UFA at the end of the season anyways. He comes off the books.

Yes I know. This is if the Leafs keep him on the team in the press box.. the worst case scenario. Of course the leafs will bury him in the minors to save cap space for a more worthy player.

I am just showing people that we dont need to buy out Lupul. that is all

The NHL wouldn't be screwing the Leafs, if Lupul is medically fit. What do think the purpose of LTIR is, to give teams unlimited cap relief?
