Doing my research on what it would take for Detroit's GM to trade AA would be a player of the same age. Preferably a defenseman that could help them now. Bereglazov played in the KHL and was good for a 23 year old player. He still has potential and wants a roster spot or he's considering moving back to the KHL. I mean, this is a perfect trade for everyone. I wonder what Athanasiou wants financially wise. If he's asking more than 3 than he's probably going to The KHL.

About Athanasiou:
- He's quick and plays fast. If anybody saw any highlight reel goals from last season, you probably saw Athanasiou in the mix. His speed and acceleration are perfect for our system.

- Proven goal scorer at 23 years old he scored 18 goals and had 29 points in 64 games.

- he's exactly what we need or the second best thing being a Third/fourth line center. His face off percentage was 44% but I think he can definitely get better being only 23. Worst comes to worst, Miller plays center and he slots in at wing which would still work out.

-On top of his speed he has incredible hands. He had around 2-3 highlight reel goals last season where he dangled players like it was nothing.

With the 1,250,000 left in cap we have room to move freely with Hartford call ups. Overall, the only way this wouldn't work is if Detroit wants someone different in exchange which i would also be okay with Pionk or Day heading to Michigan. We could dangle around the cap area especially when Fast comes back but we should be okay for the most part. The only issue this brings is if Hayes and Zibanejad can't prove to be 1st and 2nd line guys. We could always trade.
