Description
I like the under-the-radar off season that NJ has had. Aside from Nico Hischier, NJ acquired Marcus Johannson and Mirco Muller via trade. Now, they've added Will Butcher. Add in a low risk signing in Drew Stafford and PTO for Jimmy Hayes and that makes a quietly good team.

In my opinion, NJ is still another 2-3 years away from seriously competing. Do you think they would be inclined to trade a piece that could help now in return for multiple future assets?

I like Dal Colle's potential but what's taking him so long. Some consider him to bust, however I still like what he brings. However Palmieri looks to be a 25-30 goal scorer for the foreseeable future. If he didn't fall into a slump early this season he would've put up much more than 26G. From December to March he was scoring on a 40 goal pace. The trade makes sense based on the age factor, but Palmieri's intangibles with him being a Jersey boy I can't see Shero trading him. Once Greene is gone Palmieri looks to be the frontrunner for the captaincy.

I see where you're coming from regarding Dal Colle, but I wouldn't write him off yet - He is still a #5 overall pick. (granted I have time-stamped posts saying that I wanted William Nylander - lol oh well). Dal Colle is falling victim to a log jam that NYI has up front. He had a nice first AHL season and I don't expect that he will need to marinate there much longer.

Not a bad argument either about Palmieri, I just viewed him as a more viable target than say Taylor Hall.

Respectable. The idea intrigues me, but I, like many NJ fans seem pretty emotionally attached for lack of a better term to Palms

PALMS>PAR(asite)ISE

But on a more serious note, Devils fans do love seeing a local guy being a main fixture on this team
