Agreed. Only reason to trade Max is to rebuild with younger players. Never thought Martinez was that good. Sure not worth 4 NHLers.

Are you insane? You mean 3 fringe NHLers that haven't made their mark and can't make the roster, and a late 1st round pick (albeit in a deep draft, so the equivalent of a decent mid-round 1st pick). At least McCarron is still young and has much room for growth, and JDLR could still grow but he'll likely remain a defensive forward. But neither are considered NHLers.
You can't get an established NHLer (even if they've got some issues) for any number of fringe NHLers. You can offer 20 Davidson's and it still won't be fair.

Well imo Pacioretty is a good scorer and all but he doesn't produce when it counts. Couture on the other hand is a playoff performer and fixes the need we have at center.
Was thinking I underpayed for Martinez, as We_Want_The_Cup says, were giving unproven players and picks for an established clutch stanley cup winner.

One playoff run doesn't dictate the players future and past. He has performed well in past playoff runs. No need to trade him. Also Couture is injury prone. I'd rather try Galchenyuk at center
