is it because Skinner was hilariously bad? And that he could regress back to that at any time?

Yeah bro. He could return to sucking as bad as Anderson has for years. tears of joy

How many years do you need to go back? Like should we check their peewee stats? What they’ve done the last 3 years is way more indicative than 4+ years ago. He said, knowingly.

its an interesting cut off. I guess the fact he stopped there has nothing to do with Skinner being untradeably bad before that. Don;t worry, regressing 32 year old Skinner is more likely to get better than worse compared to last season wink

Are you serious?

I argued with a couple points, you chose to reply to one, then ignored the rest. And you demand i only argue your points?

Yeah, he’s more physical than skinner. Not that he’s a real physical player anyways. And he’s ok defensively, not some defensive specialist. You’re acting like Anderson is a Selke level forward who strikes fear into his opponents. He doesn’t, and his physical game has had him hurt quite a bit. Those players slow down much faster. Kinda like he is.

In summation, your proposal is bad, and you should feel bad. Everyone here has said so, you’re the only one arguing it’s not. Good day chief.

Done.

I think we were overpaying to begin with, but to move up Habs have to be willing to overpay. Adding in Kovacevic doesnt destroy the deal.

According to PuckPedia, 3 for 5 and 26 is basically a wash, you guys are ‘overpaying’ but about $0.10 but then again you are trading into the top 3 so that does cost a little bit more // you have to make us want to move down

Skinner's let down season this year still paced better offense than Anderson's best year of his career... Five years ago lmaooo.

Interesting, i paid the 5th and 15th i believe it was.

The 26th was to move up 1 space with Chicago, which is a free asset to Chicago.

I never made that claim.

But if you are done getting sand in your vagina. I could see both players getting better with a trade. Anderson's style would fit Buffalo far better than Montreal's, and vice versa. But there is still the cost of $3.5M Habs are eating for your team trying to compete

Skinner is only going to get better. I agree, cancel the trade. enjoy your 32, 33, 34 year old $9M one dimension player. You won me over with your short sightedness

$3.5M has a cost when you are aiming to compete. You have enough youth. Skinner is only gonna get worse at $9M with 3 years left.

3.5 difference for much lower production ain't worth an extra pick. If anything is 1 for 1 but there sabres still don't do it since skinner at 9 is more valuable to them than whatever is left of Josh Anderson

Sand in vagina because you can’t comprehend basic logic. If Buffalo wanted to rid itself of Skinner, could probably just dump him to Chi for pick 11. Add in with your proposal they’re also paying a 2nd AND taking your trash. Sheesh, not hard to realize it’s terrible for Buffalo

His one dimension actually matters. Does Anderson’s no dimension play merit more than league minimum?

According to PuckPedia the 5th and 26th are enough value to move up to the 3rd. Take the 14TH and flip it to WPG for McGroarty.

I can’t believe I’m replying to a thread with 35 posts already, but PuckPedia cannot be accurate for the top picks in the draft. 2004 was the last time a team traded a top 5 pick (not counting team’s trading future picks which turn out to be top 5, whose values aren’t known at the time of the trade). Any discussion of trading a top 5 pick is basically entirely hypothetical— those trades just don’t happen— but Puckpedia cannot train their pick value model on any historical trades of top 5 picks, so there’s no reason to expect it to be in any way accurate.

Anderson is dead weight. 3,5 mil cap relief is not worth 11 OA. Skinner is still producing, but since he was outplayed from top 6 role, they are looking for cap relief and bottom 6 help.

Ok, Then remove Anderson from the trade entirely. $9M worth of capspace, but multiply the return by 3.

Marleau was $6M and 1 year left. took a mid first round pick to trade him away.

So Buffalo can trade 3x 1st and 2nd?

Except the Leafs really overpaid for that, so lets just say 3x 1st. It is over 10% of your cap afterall.
