I get it, but I don't think the Avs are just looking to dump Colton for nothing and this is fairly close to nothing... Colton scored 40 points last year and is on a very reasonable 4aav for 3 more years. Avs want cap space and a player that is under 2Million AAV that can contribute they are still a contending team.

But this would free them up to get such a player in UFA, wouldn't it? Or another trade

I think they would give away Val right now not Colton. Trade him just to free up like 2 million and have a worse player doesn't make much sense.... I maybe totally wrong and they trade him for slim jim, that would be disappointing.

Would Jordan Greenway half retained and Krebs and prospect like Kulich for Colton and wood work. Kulich ready very soon and Greenway solid?
