If you retain 2.5 or something on him, his replacement costs 2.5 and all you get is a wash. No cap savings. So why bother unless you really like the replacement.
Who in FA are they getting at Smith's level at 2.5 mil.... no one.
So that's a wash. I don't see him being moved out.

Eller is the same. He's a 2.4 mil cap hit. If they moved him out there is no one else they can bring in at that cap hit other than a younger player from WBS.
There is no FA replacement coming for a 3C position at 2.4 mil.

While I think it's possible to move Jarry and I think they should. I also think they will try to do it, but what they won't do is eat cap or just give him away taking back bad cap in return.

The team has laid it's cards and plan out these last few weeks. They signed Ivany and now Ned.
If they think Brenstrom is a better player than pool party for the 4th line he'll be next.
Then POJ will fall in place and this is the roster you will have with 7 mil in cap roughly before FA starts with them signing 1 player.
It won't be till TDL where they move Eller and Smith out till we see the younger players fill those roles after spending most of the year in WBS.
