Meh, I'm fine with the value on it, as long as Chychrun has expressed a desire to re-sign.

Maata for Trouba is doable. I'm basing that trade off the Athletic NY article which proposed this as the frame work. Holl works better for Detroit tbh. Saves an extra 1.1 mil in cap space on buying Holl out. Maata can be moved for a pick.

This isn't worth it for the Rangers. If you're sending Holl back there can't be any retention on Trouba. I agree with the people higher up, Maata needs to be sent instead of Holl

But Holl doesn’t help the rangers. They would be looking to move him next off-season which seems like too much work

I would assume that NYR would turn around and buy him out after trading for him and free up 2.3 mil in space for the 1.1 mil buyout. I could see Yzerman playing hardball and saying no to Maata for Trouba. Can just as easily sell Maata for a 4th, buy out Holl, and sign Roy for the same cap hit. Including Holl saves DRW an additional 1.1 mil in cap space from the buyout, so that would be hard to turn down.

I thought Drury was going to buy-out Goodrow, but I don’t think he wants the dead cap. Seems like he know goodrow would be claimed

So I don’t think he would use the buy-out on Holl. Rangers could just hold Trouba and trade him in his final year

Yea, I'm just spitballing. Holl for Trouba with some retention was the bones of a deal in the athletic NY. I personally would be fine with Trouba for Maata with some retention.

Sharks won't eat $4m of Fabbri for nothing, have to throw in a sweetener to make it worthwhile for us.

They just ate 3X3.6 on Goodrow for nothing. Fabbri is a better player, younger, and on a one year deal. Doesn't have to be the Sharks, but Fabbri is worth a 5th to some team looking to get to the floor/have assets to flip at the deadline.

Let's be real here, Goodrow was just a top 5 player on a playoff team, and he has roots in SJ, it's where he started his career. Fabbri can't stay healthy if his life depended on it. Guarantee if ya'll get rid of him it's a cap dump and there's always a sweetener with that. No team is just willing to cover $4m for free. Sharks had many other reasons to grab goody, but no reason to grab Fabbri.

Fabbri would have been 2nd on SJ in goals this season in 68 games played. But sure, total cap dump. 🙄
