This is hilarious, first off a 2nd round pick is the absolute bare minimum it will cost the Canucks to dump Mikheyev and his 2 x $4.75m but to top it off you want Donato sent back as part of the deal… you do realize Dinato was as productive as Mikheyev this past season at less than half the price… right?

Make it Mikheyev, Vancouver’s 2025 1st round pick and Vancouver’s 2024 4th round pick to Chicago for Donato and the Hawks probably accept.

You are delusional if you think that Donato returns a first, this helps Chicago get a 2nd round pick and reach the cap floor this is a win-win.

Yeah Taney is getting like $6,000,000 for 3 years not any where close to $3,000,000

I remember reading he'd take a significant pay cut to come to the Canucks. if not Dillion or DeMelo are options.

Don’t believe everything off the internet, this is his last time to get a contract he is going to stay in Dallas or maybe Toronto
But Tierny and Boyd are nice pick ups

I mean who knows it wouldn't surprise me Tanev kind of comes off as a guy who isn't too concerned about money considering hes a multi millionaire, probably just wants to live in an area hes comfortable in.

The help the Chicago reach the cap floor narrative is made up by teams trying to dump their unwanted cap on us. Hawks have 7 more roster spots to fill and need to spend 10 mil to get there. They’ll be fine.

I never said Donato gets a 1st, he returns the 4th round pick. The 1st round pick is what it will cost to dump Mikheyev and his 2 x $4.75m on the Hawks.

If you will recall, two years ago the Canucks paid a 2nd round pick to dump Dickinson and his remaining 2 x $2.75m on the Hawks. Chicago also sent Riley Stillman back to Vancouver as part of that deal, what makes you think the cost to dump Mikheyev will be cheaper?

Also, if you check Puckpedia’s cap relief calculator they estimate the cost of dumping the remainder of Mikheyev’s contract at the 21st pick of the 1st round.

lol why don't you put in McDavid and see what he returns, the model is flawed a 2nd for a player who is overpaid by a 1.5 million for two more years is only gonna cost a team a 2nd, He came off a injury and is just finding his stride again, no way you get a first but a 2nd is beyond fair, maybe you get an added 4th-5th but in no way do you get a 1st.

It is called a “cap relief” calculator, nobody is looking for cap relief from the best player in the world or any other solid hockey player who is playing well and showing they are actually worth their contract. It is used to determine what it would cost a team to rid themselves of an unwanted player/contract… a cap dump and judging from the roughly 5,000 posts on here each day that has Canucks fans trying to unload Mikheyev on Chicago he definitely fits the description.

Also, good job side stepping the whole Dickinson cap dump scenario that actually involved the same two teams and managements that have actually gone down this path together in the past.

We’ve literally seen not even 24 hours ago goodrow being claimed for free and PLD being traded for Darcy Kuemper, The Dickinson trade was made during the flat cap, but now the cap is rising and will rise significantly in the near future.

If your only source is puckpedia then that’s absurd, a 2nd is more than fair maybe an extra 4th will do it but no way do we add a first.

Honestly we could just trade him to the sharks but it’s a way for you guys to get free picks since you literally are going to suck for the next two years.
