Jackets decline. KKs contract is way worse than Laines. Would rather buy out laine than take this deal. I wouldn’t mind kuznetsov for cap purposes. How about laine for Kuz and a third

CBJ decline. The Hurricanes will have to pay the Blue Jackets to make them buy out Kotkaniemi. Columbus do need veterans and a top 6 C. But they need someone who leads by example and shows the youth how to play the game. Kuznetsov is not that.

Agreed. If this is even on the table, the canes are dumb to say no.

Yeah for one year, then they’ll have a boatload of cap space next summer and get the best defenseman not in the nhl on an elc

Either someone pays for KK, or the canes just buy him out, or keep him. Very likely going to bounce back to the 35-40 point, defensively sound center he was last year.

I don't think Columbus has any issues with Carolina buying him out.

My point is the canes aren’t paying anyone to take him. That goes against everything they do, selling low on a player because of one down year isn’t how they do business
