Description
CAP IS OVER BECAUSE THERE ARE 7 EXTRA PLAYERS CALLED UP WILL BE UNDER THE CAP WHEN U SEND PLAYERS DOWN (most of them are on 2 ways)

First trade: Jeannot doesnt seem to be sticking around with tampa. theres a high chance he walks next summer and they gave up a ton. They also seem to be shopping him and while hes a big body isnt much more then a 4th liner at best. The bruins always seem to get decent value out of players like especially ones who have talent and show flashes (like jeannot has). A depth Dman on a team that tents to turn them into solid at worst 3 pair guys and a 4th could be enough (would be open to changing it a bit)
Second trade: Ullmark is an elite goalie and Edm (at least there fans) seem to be desperate to get an elite goalie in net to back there D. trading 2 younger RFAs to a team looking to get younger would fit both teams. they both have solid potential and would fit into the bruins pretty well. With other teams calling edm would have to outbid everyone else (idc about nmc players tend to waive them when they feel unwanted)
Signings: Jake DeBrusk is most likely gone as he seems to be looking for 6m+ While that will suck for them due to him being an amazing playoff player he is very streaky and most likely going to be overpaid. There are a few replacements I could see as fits on a 2-3 year 5ish deal. Mantha Arvidsson, bertuzzi, Marchessault, olofsson, duclair, kanee, even duchene or Pacioretty could be fits (not all them are worth 5m some are a bit more some are less but general idea)
Lines: While theres a small logjam in the bottom 6 in the Fwd they have a bunch of them on expiring deals and could look to package them and add a player during the seaons if needed. letting merkulov and lysell fight for some time during training camp can only help. expecting beecher, lauko and boqvist to take a step forward this year they could move them during the year for picks or keep the depth.
Open to Ideas/ replacements but use ur brain : D

He doesn't make 3M and you are obsessed with calling him a 4th liner when he's not. I don't need to name a team because there are plenty that would be interested in him. He was on pace for 21 points and 300+ hits. Dakota Joshua is the closest comparable to that this year and he's easily making 3.5M+ this summer

my brother u have to have never watched a game sense jeannot got 40 the year before he got traded. Joshua had double the points and 8 points in 13 playoff games. jeannot played about 12 ish mins a game and under 10 mins 4 out of the last 5 he played. if that doesnt say 4th line i just dont think u know hockey above peewee level. joshua was getting just under 14 1/2 on avg. his last 5 games 4 of them he played over 15 mins 2 of them nearly/above 18 mins. thats very much not a 4th line guy. while imo joshua getting 3-4m is an overpayment for a 3rd liner who had 1 good season hes also a FA. Not to mention he was on a 41ish point pace this past year. more then double what jeannot got. so how are u comparing those 2? teams also have to bit to win joshua, not give up assets. jeannot is most likely going to walk next season unless he gets overpaid again meaning u give up whatever u think hes worth for a rental? common man stop ur homer take. again please list what ur expecting from him?

what on earth do u see a 14 point per year player whos trade is known as the worst trade in the last 5ish years?

As a Preds fan I'm running as far as I can with that return.

Still, will definitely go down as one of the worst trades in NHL history

Gotta agree with colby. Jeannot is as 4th line as they come. He was incredible to watch the one season he scored 24, but that shooting% was NOT to be reached again. Tampa ignored all of the red flags surrounding him and traded an entire draft class for a 4th liner.

Way too many players in FA who you can give similar money to, if not, LESS money to do the same thing. Play 10-12 minutes a night and make hits.

Dakota Joshua isn't a close comparable considering he scored 18g-32pts. Even then, a team is going to ignore the red flags and overpay after one season the player probably won't hit again.

Jeannot just stinks.

Joshua is double the player jeannot is and while I dont think joshua is worth 3.5 at least if u look at him hes improved year after year to get to a 30-40 point pace. this is also not counting jeannot played sub 10 mins in most of his recent games meaning thats just the 4th line.
Nosek, maroon, JVR, Wheeler, carrier, duhaime, gigenson, fischer, lafferty, blais and pacioretty (depending on health) are all players that can produce the same if not better with 10mins a nigh on a 4th line. and are all cheaper then jeannot. not to mention Tampa is in a cap crunch trying to free up cap to bring back stamer making jeannot even less valueable to other teams.

My thoughts was tampa get a cheap Dman they can get a 2-3 year min deal thats edge NHL rn and could possible turn into a solid 7th d whos also a right shot + a 4th which is about what id give up for him anyway esp when u consider whats in FA as cheaper = if not better options, and tampa being so hard stuck with cap trying to resign stamer they have the least amount of leverage in a trade in at least the last 5ish years?

easily one of the worst, looks terrible rn and thats without knowing what the picks turn into. even if they turn into nobodys who played the same amount of games as jeannot thats still a terrible deal considering what else tampa could have added with those picks.

Tampa's cap crunch is completely irrelevant to if teams are interested in him or not. And teams are definitely interested. It's already been reported by Marek and Friedman.

I think Jeannot will get at least 2 3rds in value as a return. A waiver wire pickup and a 4th just simply isn't going to cut it. Many many teams are going to have interest in his physical game as well as hoping he can be a 35+ player again. It's very low risk high reward.

Tampas cap crunch instantly lowers the offers. they NEED to move him other teams are OPEN to getting him. very very different. nobody views him as ever being a 35point player outside of ur management. he had 1 good year with an insane shooting % and now multiple years showing he really doesnt offer anything outside his size and body. expecting 2 3rds is far far far more then u will get for him. it was reported that teams were interested in him not actively trying to trade for him. edm is interested in ullmark and saros but it doesnt mean they are calling boston to get him, cgl is interested in moving markstrom but it doesnt mean there calling everyteam trying to force a deal for him. every player i listed offers the same if not better production for a 4th line winger/center who would save every team 1m+ at least and any pick they would move. Teams will 100% be open to taking a chance on him but 1 year left UFA struggling with injury's and massively poor production getting 2.6m as at best a 3rd line winger who can hit just wont get u 2 3rds. if a team wants a solid 3rd liner they could call up tor and get jarnk from them or call boston and trade a pick for one of there plethora of 3/4th liners and be cheaper. or even just look in FA for a player who had a down year or old vet to fill that same. If u truely think hes going to get more then maybe 1 3rd at best then i feel bad when he finally is delt and u think they sold low on him.
if u dont believe me heres 1 of many articles that repeat the same thing.

https://www.rawcharge.com/lightning-round-is-tanner-jeannot-on-the-trading-block/

"Perhaps Friedman is right and there are some teams out there that think the soon-to-be 27-year-old still has some of that shooting magic left in him and it’s worth a shot if they can get him at a buy-low price. It is worth noting that his modified no-trade clause kicks in on July 1st, which would give Mr. BriseBois 16 fewer teams to work out a trade with, so there is a chance, that if it is going to happen, it will happen over the next couple of weeks."
"buy-low" thats not multiple 3rds or a 2nd. thats a 3rd or more likely a 4th.

Just focusing on the edmonton part of this, I think if Boston got these two guys for ullmark people would consider it a fleece, for edmonton. Ullmark for a barely 4th line forward and a 3rd pairing dman is a brutal return for boston considering that ullmark is projected to be valued the same as chychrun.

i mean holloway is 22 and everytime he goes back to the AHL he dominates. Hes clearly NHL level and has plenty of room to grow. 14th overall pick just 4 years ago and already has almost 100 nhl games (not including playoffs). broberg is 22 yearold LD who would slot behind lorhei and lindholm would be fairly cheap for the next 3-4 years for them and is a former 8th overall pick. similar to holloway everytime he goes to the AHL he is clearly far above everyone else and has really stepped up this year and still has massive room to grow. at worst u get a cheap 3LD and 3/4C who both can improve significantly and has RFA rights for the next few years that you could flip. I dont think trading for chyc is smart for boston. 1 year rental who would be there 3LD who will most likely be gone. imo just a 10oa/ future first + 2/3rd is really the only other option if ur moving him. hes not going to be enough to get an elite player. maybe laine being available and Cbj building like they want to win within the next few years it could be close to value but U would still have to give up and all u need is 1 of broberg or holloway to reach there potential and u get a top4D/top6C/LW and a role player for ullmark and 2-3M in cap space to resign sway + march and coyle next year

I think chychrun is bad for the bruins just based on their timeline with lohrei. Thats why I'm not the biggest fan of getting broberg, he might have all this room to grow but he wont get the minutes if lohrei gets locked up and lindholm is here for another 6 years at most. But overall I agree, id maybe look to moving on from coyle though, knowing poitras is going to be growing as well. I feel like if this were to get done that mantha would also be a roadblock for them, id rather have zacha at LW so poitras can get 2nd/3rd line minutes

I hard disagree. building ur D core around 2 young super talented LD and having a top 4-7D in McAvoy and one of the most underrated D in carlo imo its 100% worth. Broberg is already an NHL player + injuries happen all the time so he could easily play top 4 mins for parts of the season. lindholm is here for a while but he should bounce back to a similar level he played 2 years ago and if he keeps that up for a year or 2 hes very very movable and with the cap going up its not like u would be forced into moving him (thinking it goes up 3ish per year ur looking at 10ishm extra in 2-4 years when u would be looking to move him and give that money to broberg). I think moving on from coyle would be a huge mistake. hes been one of the best 3rd liners year in year out and showed this past season hes very capable of playing top 6c mins. the bruins main problem is they dont have any elite fwd talent that looks to replace the talent they have lost over the last few years. I think fredric will start to show he can play top 6mins or at worst be a really strong 3rd liner. pots looks to be the only hope so adding holloway would give a top6 possible player and allow zacha to move to the wing whenever pots and him step up into the mainc roles. coyle could also play wing if needed or be a strong 3rdc and depending on what geekie wants that could leave u with only having to look for someone to replace march. which if they sign lindholm in FA to be there #1 that could allow a top lines in 2-3 years too be zacha-lindholm-pasta holloway-pots-(whoever grows the best from merk, lysell, braz or even coyle) fredric-coyle/geekie(if hes extended)- merk/ maybe march?. that would still leave braz, boqvist, beecher and any other talent that u grow or sign to be filling in the gaps. thats a very very very good team right now let alone when all those players grow. not to mention ur D would be 3 lines deep and u would have sway. thats a team contending for a cup imo and its mainly built off signing lindholm and getting this return for ullmark. its all imo ofc

couldn't really tell what u were saying tbh, i threw mitch in cuz tampa is up against the cap. hes played NHL games before is is kinda an 8th D still pretty young so could become a 7thD/3RD. would be dirt cheap for a few years no matter wat and if they really wanted a 3rd could always throw a games played/points condition (50-60 games played/20-30 points = 3rd)

Id disagree. Mitch is easily worth a late pick (5th/6th) due to him playing NHL games before and being 25 and still having the ability to take a step up and be a 7thD. hes also a right shot which always brings up the value of D. I think jeannot is only worth a late 3rd/4th and the lighting want NHL players to stay competitive as there window is closing. Mitch + 4th is probably going to be the best deal unless the lighting value just the cap space and a slightly higher 3rd round pick. I also dont think it would worry the bruins to do mitch + 3rd to land him

I totally agree with a lot of the next few years comes down to if lindholm is signed and I think I meant more like if coyle was gonna want 5 million again I wouldn't be able to justify that for him to play on the third line. As for the lines you suggested I really like them except I feel like if lysell and poitras are on a line together I'd like to see someone like freddy be with them to almost be like their big brother making sure they don't get smoked 24/7. Also him being on that line would free up space on the ice for poitras and lysell to make some plays, which means holloways on the third line which if were assuming he grows well would hurt the growth or be a waste of his talent. I'm coming around to the brogerg idea if hampus lindholm gets moved a couple years down the line, I'm still not quite sold on holloway just because of the awkwardness of his timeline with respect to other guys on the bruins. Also I'd like to hear you're thoughts on merk because im not really sold on him, I'd rather move him because he's taken a while to grow and at the NHL level if boston is looking to contend right now, there likely wont be a lot of space for him on the roster.

I think Holloway has easy top 6 potential and could easily slot next to pot or between zacha and pasta in a few years. he has versatility and will continue to grow as a C if u want him to.
My take on merk is hes weird. He went undrafted yet somehow has turned into one of the better prospects on the bruins. I think hes underrated as a prospect but im also not sure how i feel on him. he doesnt have much size but he seems to have grown into a bit of a goal scorer. I think this camp this year will be huge for him. he either will make the jump and he will start being a skill 4th liner this year or u have to move him bc hes not gonna work out and u need to get value for him

I might have to watch holloway a little more because i'm getting invested now and I would like to see how he grows, even though the deal hasn't been made. I feel pretty similar abut merkulov, I don't know what to do with him and 24 isn't that young for a guy to make his NHL debut

holloways biggest issue is he hasnt taken the step forward, hes still very young tho and hes going to play a much larger role over the next year or 2 on edm or any team he plays on.
Merk is weird cuz he played 4 games last year, didnt really notice him but didnt really notice him in the 1 game that i watched. stats wise he looked elite in the AHL which normally means hes at least a 4th liner NHL level. just really hard to guess his trajectory due to him turning 24 and not having really played in the NHL.
