Please do this post and as a Leaf roster. Two of Leafs top five centres traded off the on team. Hornqvist is nice but the Leafs don't need a RWer and Sheary is good but not as good as Kadri. And 30th pick, that's a long wait for a player if he's a NHLer if at all.

Yeah, just not sure that it's in the Leafs best interest to bring in 2 wingers, (albeit both good players) a position where we have too much depth, at the expense of 2 centers (a position perceived by some as a weakness)! Kadri on a very team friendly contract as well! I realize you are taking back Fehr's contract only to bury it but if the Leafs can't move that contract for a late round pick, they would be far better to bury him themselves and insure depth past 5 and 6 centres!

I made this under the assumption they make Marner a 2C.

If the Leafs waived Fehr, I doubt if he would be claimed. Teams would have to keep him on their NHL roster. Let him play in with the Marlies and he might be an emergency call up. T

Doubt you will ever actually see Marner as an NHL center, more in the mode of a P. Kane, and should thrive on the wing! YES there is a number of centers outside of Kadri that could take his place, including Marleau, most likely Nylander, etc, but the team is hesitant to make those decisions going into 2017, but think more along the lines of 2018/19. It's only opinion but don't think this deal makes Leafs better in 2017 or beyond!

Seeing as how Kadri is locked up on a reasonable term, that increases his value. Conor Sheary is your typical bottom-six forward, but gets praised by the majority because he plays with Sidney Crosby. Patrick Hornquvist is decent, but the addition of him doesn't offset the value lost by moving Kadri, one of their best penalty killers.

if this deal was for Bozak, with a pick modification (1st round pick --> 2/3rd round pick), I think that would be fairer.

Ignore him. He's a Philly man. He hasn't seen talent in so long that he's turned sour to everyone else.

What's really funny is that the Sabres have Josefon and Girgensons has their as 4th and 5th centres, Fehr would snapped up on waivers by Sabres. So maybe the Leafs should just hold to their centre and trade one or two to the Sabres, they desperate for any offensive help....Eichel, O'Reilley and Kane can't play 60 minutes a game.
