Wow that’s a lot for Necas.

I personally wouldn’t give up a first and third for a third pairing LD.

If I’m looking on the bright side here, getting Jarvis locked up to that would be nice.

Sharangovich had better numbers then Necas. Maybe the first alone and a lower prospect...

As a Sharks fan I’d prefer they keep Mario; I really like what he brings on/off the ice. But, if the Sharks are trading him this would just about get the job done, I’d probably push for a ‘25 2nd instead of the ‘24 3rd. So something like:
Ferraro + ‘24 4th (VGK) for ‘24 1st (CAR) + ‘25 2nd (CAR)

But if it was just the 1st and 3rd I’d only cry for a little bit 😂

Ferraro would get top-4 minutes. This is a Tampa-style defense with three of the top-4 guys being lefties.

Sharangovich is a pending UFA after next season and has far less of a track record. Necas is considerably more valuable with two seasons of team control.

I suppose, but I just don’t know why we’re in on him. If we didn’t have Orlov and it was just Slavin on the left side for now, I’d definitely kick the tires on him, but for now I think we should focus on the bigger needs

Sharangovich is a very young UFA, expires at age 27 (which makes him an excellent re-signing target, but still, that doesn't exactly matter when it comes to trade value in comparison with someone like Necas). He's only a year older than Necas, but Sharangovich feels younger because he was a 2-time overager when drafted.

I don't think Calgary should be trading a young good defensive asset, 2 picks and probably if traded another first rounder plus for a 60 point winger. Necas value to Canes fans is much higher then it will ever be to any NHL team...

The Canes really want to re-sign him. They don't want to give him up. The Necas camp is requesting a trade. Because the Canes have two years of RFA for Necas, they are only giving him up for a massive return.

No one is going to give you a massive return for a good player, I like Necas but he's not worth 4 pieces... Maybe a low first and b prospect.

😂. Yall are terrible at finding the right value. Necas doesn’t bring back a package like that from a contender, much less from us. Ship him to Utah if yall want him gone, they’ll be willing to pay more than us.
