If Bennett is the future, who should we surround him with?

Description
We really don't have much in the way of draft picks to use as trade currency, so in order to make moves it means moving players for players.
--
I know many will say there's no way we would even have a shot at getting Tatar, but let me explain.
--
DET is in CAP HELL right now and next year. They still need to sign AA and are already over the cap. Starting next year they only have about $12mil in cap space but that doesn't count whatever the number will be for AA, so one could assume it'll be down in the $8-9mil range. ANd that's even with the ridiculous salary of Green coming off, plus now having their other big 3 RFA's still to sign. So, all roads lead to them having to lose someone and with Tatar he has a NTC kicking in at the start of 2018/19 season, meaning it becomes harder to move him and get a return. That's my thinking and the reason I did it.
--
Kylington gives them a Swedish Dman who if he pans out they can promote as a lesser scale Nik Lidstrom.
--
You might be asking why Tatar is on the 3rd line wing. Well, the Johnny-Mony-Ferland combo showed promise last year, so let them start and see if it grows. Same for the 3M line, arguably our best line last year. So putting Tatar on the wing with Bennett will force Sammy to elevate his game which is only good for all of us. Versteeg is a good big brother for that line, or I add a RW for them? Should any of these lines dip, each of them have pieces that can moved up/down and still generate points.
--
OK sure, maybe the ARI trade to get Strome doesn't happen, BUT wouldn't that just piss off his brother up in Edm, and to watch them battle up close through the year.
--
Stajan is moved to the wing of 4th line only to give Janko a chance to get comfy at center. Easily those two can switch back and forth all year.

its flawed logic if you think red wings have to trade Tatar cause AA is going to get 8m a year. 8m? and of course you have trade 4.5m in cap unwanted cap space Brouwer because flames need the space. so do the sabres and every other team.

Ol' Clark is right. Can't trade an unwanted contract just because you don't want it. Brouwer is yours for 3 years. And Detroit didn't JUST sign Tatar to trade him.

But that trade for Dylan Strome trade is "Fuckin' Yeah!"

I think he means they will go from 12M in cap to 8-9M in Cap meaning AA would be ~3-4 M

But as a Sabres Fan, we don't need to take on any more $h!t contracts.

We've $13 million right now for next season AA wont get more then $1.5 million to $2 million at the very most he's not getting anywhere close to $3 million to $4 million and the cap probably increases about $2.5 million next year and with Franzens $4 million off the books Detroit should've about $17 million to spend need to sign Larkin, Mantha possibly both Sheahan and Mrazek though i bet both are gone plus a replacement for Green we will be fine.

Our beat writers said that AA is more then likely getting $1.5 million no way he gets 3-4M

We just resigned Tatar to a 4 year deal, He's going absolutely nowhere. But if you want Nyquist maybe we can talk.

Funny you should mention Nyquist. I actually took him in one of the other fake teams I created.

With you guys talking about AA only getting 1.5ish, couldn't he get more if he left DET? Doesn't he have a big upside moving forward?

No thanks to trading Mangiapane without giving him a chance to earn his way onto the Flames NHL roster.
