Marner doesn’t want to waive his NMC and wants to become a UFA next season? Good, scratch him. I don’t care if it’ll affect players’ desire to sign in Toronto. He has been given everything in his career (city, money, term, NMC, TOI, assistant, etc.), yet has never shown results when it mattered. That’s what he deserves

    And whose fault is it if marner doesn’t wanna waive? The organization for giving him a full NMC. Can’t blame the guy for not waiving when he wants to stay there. Blame your former dunce of a GM and shanahan for that

    Edit: They also missed their chance to trade him last off season right before his NMC kicked in. Can’t blame the kid for not wanting to waive, blame the organization

    I totally understand that he (expecting an extension) wouldn’t want to waive. However, if his plan is to not waive and become a UFA, that’s also fine. Just be aware that there will be repercussions

    After giving the big4 and Rielly NMC contracts they don't learn their lesson. They give Jarnkrok and Kampf M-NTC contracts. Just pure stupidity.

    That’s what I’m saying. How can you get mad at Marner or Tavares for not wanting to waive? You can’t. Blame the organization for giving out those deals. It’s not marners fault the leafs offered him a NMC, and it’s not his fault they didn’t trade him when they had the chance to before his NMC kicked in.
