I know Trotz wants to sign him, but NSH fans need to be real Saros will want 6yrs min for however much and Askarov is ready to take that step. Obviously try and keep him but when you sign him to 6 yrs at 8M w a no move clause and then Askarov is the starting goalie by yr 2/3 then you'll probably wish you traded him at full value. Saros has the highest value he'll ever have rn

It's probably what it will take to get Saros, that being said.. It's too rich for my blood.

So Askarov is available then? Askarov isn't gonna be happy being a backup for the next 6-8 years..

Nobody has been extended, neither are available. Saros can directly mentor Askarov as he enters the NHL on a full time basis and we can run a tandem on Saros/Askarov @ <6mil for the season having both of them well rested heading into the playoffs next year (of course this is with the assumption of another playoff berth such as the one this season).

I'd be happy to let Saros walk to FA after the season once Askarov has transitioned.

You'd rather let Saros walk into FA next summer then get a 1st+ for him?? Especially when you aren't cup contenders? Man that is bad asset management... Yikes

Put the Preds' 1st and Chychrun in the deal. Sens still have the pick, though later, and Nashville gets value for it.

You'd be happy to just let him walk for nothing? That's hilariously bad for the Preds, I'm glad you're not the GM
