Timo Time

Créé par: PuckKnower88
Équipe: 2024-25 Bruins de Boston
Date de création initiale: 31 mai 2024
Publié: 31 mai 2024
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Bruins add scoring with Timo and jump in the bottom six with a fast forechecking winger in Foegle. Jake comes back at a fair number. Center depth is shored up by a sophomore year Poitras. D is all set already and we leave some cap room to maneuver at the deadline. Timo trade is a long shot, but with a 1st and Bs top prospect + a Vezina goalie agreeing to a long term deal I could see this having a shot.

so you're paying NJ to bail them out of their mistake, getting an expensive position that isn't really of any need, and having a non cap complaint roster because you've got $1.3M to sign three guys?

brilliant

24th in goals per game over the last 3 seasons 27th in total goals 27th highest paid forward in the NHL seems fine to me I wouldn't call it a mistake

he's not looking like the same kind of threat he was. i don't think that contract will age well, and boston has no need for it.

"Mistake"....Yeesh. I was not a fan of Timo early on, but his second half he got hot. As bad as he was to start he STILL nearly hit 30 under bad coaching.

If you only watched the games where he was playing with a pair of injured MCLs sure.

which isn't nearly enough to get me to want to take on a long term contract at $8.8M

as players age, they tend to get injured. do you think he's likely to be healthier in his 30's than his late 20's?

I don’t think he’s any more likely to get injured than any other player in his late 20s.

Are you opposed to any player over the age of 26?

He played the entire year with both MLCs torn a core muscle injury and had arthroscopic shoulder surgery right after the season and said he wasn't even close to healthy until march. March 1st until end of the season 23GP 17G 9A

That's fine, I'm glad he doesn't want Timo. Let's see what a healthy Timo does for Keefe.

players get hurt as they get older. that's unlikely to change.

I'd happily take a chance on Timo. Pass on Foegle, I'd rather re-sign Heinen instead. Also Freddy >>>>>> Geekie so if one of them gets moved to the 4th line it's Geekie.

You must be itching to dump McAvoy and that albatross contract then

his contract is pretty fantastic. that happens when you sign a guy as an RFA rather than a UFA.

How is this not a position of need ? Anything in the top 6 for scoring is 110% necessary. Leaving all point production to Pasta/Marchy ? Timo in our top 6 would fit nicely and he could no doubt hit career highs playing with Pasta/Zacha

the bruins need centers, not wingers.

Because apparently 1 year of getting injured at 27 means you will never have a healthy season again according to you.

If Poitras is already getting hurt at 19 imagine how injury prone he’ll be at 25!! (See how stupid that is)

No faith in Poitras ? I dont love Zacha at C, but adding a C pushes Mattew down the line. He looked great before his shoulder injury

well you're taking a pretty simplistic view here. far too binary.

am i concerned about a 19 year old on his ELC having a shoulder surgery? nope.
am i concerned about a big bodied winger thats had multiple serious knee injuries, will turn 28 at the start of next season, is the 8th highest paid player at his position, and has more money left on his deal than any other LW beside Huberdeau? ya. ya i am. factor in that to my eyes he doesn't look like the same threat, and ya i don't want any part of that deal. i don't think it will age well.

no, adding a C pushes Zacha to the wing. Boston has made it abundantly clear that is what they want to do. they don't view him as a center long term.

Then I feel you get stuck on scoring in the top 6 again... Only real C out there is Lindholm. The rest cant produce points the way Boston needs.

its not all about points. stephenson is a good option too. spending capital on an expensive winger shouldn't be an option.
