  1. Alexeyev, Alexander
  2. Kuemper, Darcy (2 150 000 $ retained)
  3. Protas, Aliaksei
Détails additionnels:
NJD fans have presented a number of options for Fehervary, including swapping 10th overall pick for him. But am presenting two alternative routes here. One with and one without MF. In the first one, Kuemper is moved. He has 10-team NTC starting at the end of this month. A buyout (not sure it’s been something they considered) would cost anywhere from $2.2m to $4.4m over next three years. Alexeyev would be moved, partly to cover cost but also if they felt HHA or Johansen were ready to jump up into 3LD spot.
WSH
  1. Daws, Nico [Droits de RFA]
  2. Holtz, Alexander
Détails additionnels:
Caps want to add some young scoring and seem like a good fit for Holtz (where he would learn a bunch from Ovechkin). Daws, who is waiver exempt for 2024-25, could be good number 2 or 3.
2.

    Alternative 1

    Martin Fehervary

    Beck Malenstyn

    *$2.15 million retained
    WSH
      Alternative 1

      Alexander Holtz
      Nico Daws
      1st pick (#10)

The thinking here would be the difference between the two picks (which PuckPedia values similar to value of 29th overall pick) would cover the cost of upgrading Alexeyev to Fehervary minus the cost of downgrading from Protas to Malenstyn.

      Essentially, Fehervary + Malenstyn = #29 + Protas + Alexeyev

Similar to #1 but adding Protas in place of #17 pick. And extra roster player for 3rd round pick.

Of all these trades, I'd be most inclined to do the first one. I think the values you're proposing are all generally really fair. I'd just really prefer that the caps don't have to retain on Kuemper, but I get that there's no real way to make it work for the Devils unless they do.

I don’t think Kuemper is a 50-start, $5m+ number one anymore. I think presenting him as 30-start, $3m tandem goalie would be far easier sell.

The other point I forgot to include was that Fitzy has paid for playoff experience before (Marino, Haula, Palat, Allen) with his veteran additions…Kuemper would likely apply there (2022).

I agree with you - I think Kuemper is at best a tandem goalie at this point in his career. The caps should've given him at least a start in the playoffs to let him have a chance to revitalize his career like Bobrovsky.

I'd be interested in the first one I think. Giving up two or all three of Fehervary, Malenstyn, and Protas would be a tough pill to swallow
