Take a look Sabres fans

Bc this is EXACTLY why they aren’t trading for a big salary this offseason

Can’t do big $$$ for multiple years & stay under the Cap
The year after this, Tuch & Benson need to be signed

The odds that Clifton is still on the team in his final contract year seem slim IMO - he seems destined to be traded before 2025-26 opening night IMO. Likewise, if Skinner doesn't rebound this coming season, the talk about buying him out (if not able to deal him) seem more palatable next summer.

Although Quinn and Peterka seem joined at the hip since their Rochester promotions and are equally valuable, I think Peterka is more likely to earn that cap hit by 2025-26 and Quinn being more on a bridge, prove-it value because he has more to prove in terms of staying healthy and full-season of production.

Adams can add big salary this summer - and if he's able to identify an impact player that fits with the core's age range (i.e. Cirelli or Crouse would be such example), I think he will.

Those moves you’re talking about are for NEXT offseason though
Seems to me like the type of trade ppl here want is more likely to happen then, not now

I hope so too - but it's just a wish at the moment. Most fans expected the same last summer from him and then he got injured multiple times. I hope he's not one of those injury-prone guys that never gets lucky to make it through a full season.

Right - as are the proposed signings / extensions from the OP for '25-'26. I just was noting that those cap additions will likely be offset by the potential subtractions I noted, leaving no excuse for the Sabres not to add a decent player with term and high cap hit........this summer or next.

It’s not an excuse
Budgeting to fit these contracts moving forward will help keep us from losing guys we don’t want to

Are there ways to bring in someone like Konecny, etc ?
Sure
But is it reasonable?
Probably not. Seems very unlikely
