Ostlund

Samuelsson will become an even bigger favorite of Ruff's than he was of Granato's. He's not getting swapped.

I'd take the Wahlberg-for-Marino deal and offer Buffalo's 2nd (43rd OA). If NJ wants 11OA, they'd have to add another body that can contribute rather than 42nd OA.

I'd take Ostlund if buffalo is willing to move them.

The pick is buffalo's 2025 1st (presumably with some protections), not 11th overall.

For 11th overall+Wahlberg, I would offer NJD 2025 1st+Marino+2025 2nd

Fair. A lot of the variation in viewing probably hinges on the valuation of Holtz. I have him valued somewhere as a mid/late 1st (but would only move him in a trade like this for a guy I like).

Theres a lot of variations I’d be willing to play with around the base of 10th for Fehervary+, or Holtz+ for Fehervary, or 2025 1st+ for fehervary.

Just curious, is there any prospect(s) that, if they fell to 10, would make you accept?

I’ve seen so many different rankings and I honestly like a lot of the guys in the top 20 this year so I’m not too sure. Guys like Eiserman and Iginla are my top 2 that could in some world fall to the caps but probably won’t at 17, but a guy like Brandsegg Nygard is a realistic possibility at 17. I don’t know what the caps strategy is going into the draft, but I’d imagine they probably wanna hold Fehervary regardless because he’s their best defenseman under 25. Sorry I know it’s not the most straightforward answer lol.

I’d consider that deal from Boston, but I think they’d want a 2024 pick as part of the deal. My guess is if it’s Jersey, the general construct will look something like this.

I believe they’d rather have a 2024 3rd instead of Daws. I would prefer a vet goalie instead at around $1M who can be buried in the AHL personally. Is there a reason for his inclusion?

Honestly, there's enough prospects that should be available at 17 that would fit the Caps drafting style that I don't really see them moving up...

Understandable.

So for future reference, if I am to make more Fehevary trades, you’d prefer them built around Holtz+ or 2025 1st+ rather than around a trade up to 10?

I think for Caps management, it'd have to be Holtz as the focal point of the return. Caps need a top 6 scorer badly and value Fehervary very highly, so it would have to be something nice to convince MacLellan to part ways with Marty.

I think Holtz would be a great fit to serve as an “ovi replacement”

What would you be looking for in addition to Holtz?

probably just picks, I'd imagine Fehervary and Holtz don't that crazy of a difference in trade value. Personally, I'd like to hold onto Fehervary because he, Sandin, and Alexeyev all played really well last season, and are all under the age of 25. Could be a nice left side on the blueline if we keep the three of them around for a while

100% understandable. Every reason you state for keeping Fehevary is exactly why I want him.

Luke, Marino, Hamilton, Nemec, Fehevary, Siegenthaler imo would be an ELITE Dcore. The type of backbone that leads to a cup.

I did and it got me thinking lol. Marino can come in right now and give Chabby the stable partner and then we could take a chance on a high risk/high reward player like Eiserman or maybe Yakem~
