On the Catton-Iginla discussion you're at least partially right.

According to https://chl.ca/whl/stats/players/281/all/points/ were their face-offs in 2023/24 as follows: Catton 724/1355 (53.4%), Iginla 48/122 (39.3%).

Despite being probably only 5ft10 is Catton much more probable future NHL center. Iginla looks like guaranteed future NHL-er, but at the moment it looks unlikely he will play center.

Sure, Iginla isn’t trending to be a center, but he has a good chance of becoming a 1st line winger, probably a better chsnce than Catton. Iginla won’t fall past CGY, but its not likely he makes it to 9 honestly

Flames are desperate to find a Barkov to play with Huberdeau, since they're stuck with him for yrs to come. Catton could be the best bet for that spot. If the Flames could somehow trade up and get a second top 10 pick to take Iginla, that would be perfect. But at the end of the day all of this is just a longshot in happening.

Ullmark is not worth the 10th overall pick you idiot. nice over pay for no reason. rather trade the 10th for 13th and gustavsson, no goalie is worht the 10th overall pick other than Swayman. Saros nope, markstrom hell no, not even 2-3m retain not worth a first.

Ullmark is one year removed from winning the Vezina, he’s 100% worth that pick. Yall have no concept of worth when it comes to goalies. If you want good goaltending you have to give up something of worth for it, not your scrappy late round picks and B list prospects. If it were that easy TOR or LA would have good goaltending. The only excuse for not paying for Ullmark is “he’s too old” or “he doesn’t fit our timeline for contention” which is bs since you’ll never find a young top goaltender on the market without giving up half your franchise for him.

He's also 31 at the start of the season and seemingly falls apart during the playoffs (sure, you can blame some on the team). Don't think a team with a still young core would trade that high a pick for him.

But who else? You’re not going to find a young guy to match the contention window, and according to TyeZerker here, NJ isn’t willing to pay for Saros at his proper value either. Imo Saros is the guy, but if you’re not ready to give up 10th OVA and maybe more it’s going to be tough to get him.

You should google Carter Hart. Nobody is trading anything for him for the rest fo his life.
