The further Florida goes the less likely Bennett is a player they have any plans of moving on from. At this point he has been the linchpin of their run and trading him away for anything less than a king’s ransom would probably piss off their fans. They do have another year on his contract. And they’re not keeping all those guys. I think they’re going to let Montour walk, they will resign Verheghe, and if they can’t afford to keep Reinhart, they suddenly have money to keep Bennett. They can split that between him and Lundell if they want to keep both. It’s not like they haven’t drafted any players in the last few years who could replace some of the pieces they are about to lose. And if they need to trade him at the trade deadline next year, you know people will pay King’s Ransom to get him.
