on value that’s almost certainly plenty fair for Ottawa but they probably say no just because I absolutely do not see them possibly moving their pick this season

Calgary says no because they won't agree to take on Korpisalo. An unwanted goalie making 4 mil/yr for 4 years is a deal breaker. However they might be willing to retain 50% on Markstrom for 7th OA if Korpisalo isn't part of the deal.

it's good value, but I think part of the reasoning to trade Markstrom in the first place is to give Wolf the net, so Koorpi doesn't make sense in the end

ditching Korpisalo would be the only thing that makes the deal remotely worth it for the Sens. Seems like a simple “both teams say no”

Markstrom will be retired before the Sens can truly compete for a Cup. Trading the 7th OA would be a big mistake, imho.

are you insane, markstrom is not worth a top 10 pick, HE IS 34 YO FFs. no G in the league is worth a top 10 pick
