Bottom line you would need to offer AA far more then $2.2 million for Detroit to let him go.

As far as the AA deal/signing, it doesn't really matter that Detroit is over the cap or in cap trouble. They are not going to let a player of his age and caliber go for next to nothing. They could trade his rights for way more.
