I don't think they'd want Schmidt and would probably want a higher end prospect like Barlow or *gulp* McGroarty. Although, it's pretty unlikely Winnipeg would consider moving McGroarty.

I feel if they added Salomonsson or Torgersson it would get done. Barlow would be more of interest but they are both solid prospects. Schmidt is simply a cap swap to make the money work on both sides and NYI can use the player to bare the loss of two top 4 defenseman.
