This is pretty unappealing honestly. This would be the softest team in the league. Defensively, this team would get caved in too. Two years ago, the Sabres played fast and loose and scored a ton off the rush, but they lost too much because the defense and the goalies were hung out to dry. Last year, they tightened up, in an attempt to play winning hockey, and they lost a bunch of rush chances, which left the Sabres trying to gain the offensive zone while the other team was waiting for them. The offense dried up, too many guys gravitate to the perimeter, not enough guys go to the ugly places. Combine that with a pp that insists on force feeding Thompson one timers on the pp (when every team in the league is waiting for it), and you get 13 years of no playoffs. The op makes this team softer and adding two rookie centers that are offensive...ruff will be a clear upgrade over granato, but this build doesn't go far.
