Not much coping needs to be done. We're on the way back up, and haven't blown our window at our first Cup in 55+ years.

Yeah, and when it comes to playoffs, he's about as invisible as the Red Wings over the last decade, too. OOF. tears of joy tears of joy tears of joy

It’ll be 9 straight next year champ; I know you’ll be (secretly) watching the Leafs win tomorrow but don’t you have a mock draft to prepare. #futility

**** it might be, but when our core is in their prime and sucking their way to another 1st round loss like the Leafs, I'll be worried. tears of joy

Speaking of the draft, maybe if y'all worried more about drafting than acquiring 20 game rentals and dumping **** contracts like Mrazek and Marleau, you'd have the depth to make it into May lmaoooo.

Nah. Raymond actually shows up when the team needs to win a game. Mitch doesn't.

The leafs are still playing while we're golfing so I'd say marner helps win games.

Mitch has 1 point so far and is notorious for disappearing in the spring. I'd say he doesn't.

Larkin's probably got tee times scheduled with him next week, though.

You need to put down the bong and google red wings regular season record. You’ve missed the playoffs 8 straight years champ, one of the worst stretches of futility in the league’s history . But keep on chirping, you’re not embarrassing yourself or anything 🤡

Very true, however Razor was a main reason they weren't booking tee times several months ago. He showed up and was clutch when it kept Detroit alive. When the Wings do get to the playoffs, his small sample size definitely helps more than hurts if that's what fans can base it on.

Yeah it's almost as bad as Toronto during the first decade of the cap era. tears of joy

But all that suffering paid off and now they're living the dream and golfing in early May instead of mid April every year lollllll.

Print your T-shirts champ ‘8 & counting’; at least you can keep watching the Leafs in the playoffs .
And get to work on those mock drafts

True. They do provide 4-7 entertaining games every year.

Sucks that you've still gotta watch all their Cup wins in black and white though. tears of joy tears of joy tears of joy

Come on now, let's calm it down. Just because SY likes to rip it up doesn't mean solid jabs aren't exactly that. Both are true, Wings have had nearly a decade long shi*-show, and TOR has underachieved. Detroit futility stretch and TOR futility era are both not ideal, considering the history.

Both teams are trying to claim historical dominance. Check the all-time record, check cup wins. Bottom line is that the two franchises are forever intertwined. Damn near 50-50 in wins/losses and cups (regardless of league size/playoff format/etc). I hate the Leafs more than any other team (outside of COL/PIT because that's when I was alive for the bulk of my hockey knowledge). I still have to respect them.

With the league expanding, and bragging rights changing from dynasties to who is hot now, the original 6 have a duty to uphold why they were the first 6. Our favorite teams can now be supplanted because people don't care about history, rather who is "the future". Why does anyone think expansion teams are getting so much love? Social media propels the trending over historical. Seattle and Vegas are exciting....they haven't gone through what TOR/DET have. That is why it means more, and shown on sites like this lol

That mock draft won’t complete itself. But keep watching the Leafs play in the playoffs every year - it’ll at least remind you what’s it like. # 8 years & counting

Hey, I'll have you know my 2020 mock accurately had Seth Jarvis going to the Leafs!

... Well, the pick number was right, at least. You guys got out of Marleau's deal, though! tears of joy

My friend, the Red Wings run isn't even the worst run of futility in pro sports in this city. tears of joy

But pretty sure since the Cubs won a World Series the worst run of futility in professional sports is 57 years and counting without a Cup.

Yes. Detroit's goal should be to acquire Toronto contracts and adopt Toronto cap structure so they can achieve Toronto levels of success. tears of joy

If you keep saying it, you may convince somebody other than yourself lol.
