Too Early 2425 Opening Night Roster Projection

Créé par: TSTTrocks
Équipe: 2024-25 Red Wings de Detroit
Date de création initiale: 18 avr. 2024

Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Definitely don't have the numbers exactly right on the ufas, will need to sign at least a few depth forwards a la fischer, ZAR, czarnik etc.
Could see Stevie use assets to move out cap space in the off season, or he may just wait and see how prospects look in training camp/preseason.
Next off season almost 20M in cap to take a run at some big fish UFAs including a goalie to play in front of Cossa assuming his trajectory from this year continues.

I would be really disappointed if they ran the same defense back again.

Subbing out Ghost for Ed and cycling between Maatta and AJo. A full season of Ed after a healthy off season and continued development will be a huge add. Hopefully Walman is 100% ready to go by training camp as well.

I don't think anything else is possible without giving up assets to move Maatta, holl, chiarot, or Petry.

I won't be surprised if they regress a bit in the standings next year as the youth trickle in and the temporary cap crunch hits, but also won't be surprised if they "over perform" again.

I do agree Ed over Ghost should be an improvement and help for the future.
I feel Walman should be healthy for next season, don't see why not.
I don't see us moving Chiarot, he's played decent this year. Petry can't be moved and a buyout isn't really worth it. I wouldn't hate if he was a third pairing guy. I would hope we could get slight value for Maatta, might not be so with Fabbri but he almost got 20 this year. Just be really nice to add a top 4 RHD this season. Montour, Pesce, Roy or Carrier to name a few. Even if it meant paying a depth pick to move a contract or two, probably worth it. Holl can be bought out.
I wouldn't hate if we regressed a bit if it meant getting youth in the line up. I want to see what Danielson can do and Kasper as well. Danielson I believe is eligible for AHL so he likely end up there. I don't think Soderblom has done enough to warrant a spot.

I agree, a Maatta trade, and/or Holl cap dump/buyout seem like the most likely off-season moves to clear space. I was thinking Fabbri could be moved at TDL if Kasper, Mazur, Hanas, or Danielson are banging on the door.
Soderblom had a strong end to the season in GR, hopefully he has a big playoff run here. I mostly included him in this lineup because he is cost effective. He needs to bring energy consistently to be useful at the bottom of the lineup.

Honestly I am worried about signing a RHD as I think ASP will be ready as soon as 2025

Even if he is ready for 2025, will he be a top 4 option then? They likely make him take the same route at Edvinsson. Maybe he comes to play in Grand Rapids next season, then maybe gets some time with injuries.
Could look at shorter term options like Tanev or Carrier. There are options this off season and we should make a move I think.

The RD would have to be short term and under 5mil to be a fit. Even then Yzerman would have to buy out Holl which I'm sure he isn't psyched to do. I haven't watched enough of the free agent class to see how much better those guys would be in the 2 pair then Chiarot but it'd have to be a very significant improvement to make these changes make sense.

I'm personally in the camp of being patient with signings, playing kids, and using our metric **** tonnes of cap space and assets next season to land a star and actually be a contender.

Only bad thing with the short term RHD is that most players aren't willing to sign that unless they need a prove it deal.
I don't mind being patient but would still like to see this team improve a bit.
I'm not sure who would be a target at free agency. The options aren't that great and likely most won't hit free agency. Also I could see most wanting long term expensive deals at the age of 29 or 30.
TSTTrocks a aimé ceci.
