I think this is reasonable if they do another bridge. Maybe 2 years instead of 3, but he has only had 1 season that really showed a value above that number. I don't think Carolina is willing to pay him what it'd require to do a long term deal. This is a classic situation where Necas will probably be dissapointed in the offers out on the market, so signing a short term bridge may be in his best interest. I think in a couple of years the Canes may be OK with letting him walk based on other pieces that come into the fold (Nadeau/Blake)

My guess is in the 6-6.5 range. Nothing crazy, especially considering his career however he's also going to want something with term and unfortunately I don't believe his game is one that's going to age very well over the next few seasons. He was never a fast skater and he's just gotten slower and slower the past couple years. I think the Canes already kicked the tires and since there isn't something there yet and he isn't gonna stay. It makes sense with the canes philosophy on resigning players.
