Montreal have too much young D prospect and the 1st round pick from Florida gonna be higher than 18 but I agree with you for the 1st of the flames but you get Necas who can easily slip into the 1st line or second and man Newhook will never be who he was suppose to be and Necas is better you can't contradicted that

Montreal has a lot of young LHD. We don’t have much RHD. This is not good for Montreal, especially since we’re rebuilding. Selling off young assets for a player who’s already most likely hit their ceiling isn't smart

Too many LHD prospects, sure. Doesn't mean we're going to grossly overpay simply do to the number of prospects we have. We acquired Newhook for a 1st+2nd and he has improved since we got him so add on top of that for a return. We won't be trading Newhook to begin with anyway, nor Mailloux.

Bottom line, Necas isn't worth anywhere near that level of return.

Best comp for Necas is Fiala. So the equivalent of 17 OA (23, 58 and 69) and a Faber like prospect (Engstrom is the best comp)

So 4 first round pick for Necas…. It is so Bad for Montreal.
