Newly graduated Edvinsson is going to be a staple on Detroit's blue line. One year of Hedman (or 2-4 depending on his next contract/willingness to keep playing) is terrible asset management, not to mention adding in a mid round 1st and Burgers.

Forget how they eventually turned out but look at the McDonagh trade (it was actually 2 trades (according to Yzerman))Namestnikov for Milker and McDonagh for the rest.
