Some numbers are a little more shocking than others.

Lundqvist being one of the better goalies, his stats aren't as great as you expect from a goalie of his caliber in the last 3 years.

Even some goalies who are great, still struggle behind a stellar defense and don't have the greatest numbers but still are able to get wins because of how well their team performs every night.

Meh. Ryan Miller is an amazing goalie, yet plays for the worst team, and the worst defence in the NHL. Put him in Nashville and he'll be like an all star, and we'd all say "ooh, look at his save percentage, he's a top 10 goalie!" On the contrary. Put a goalie like Crawford in Vancouver, and watch the numbers drop wayyyy down.

I'm all in for stats for forwards and defence. Goalies? I like to weigh on them a little less

Miller is a good goalie still.

Rinne's numbers aren't that great but he has a great defense in front of him.

Then again, it depends on how many shots he has against per night and the quality scoring chances as well. Having 15 shots against you and 3 of them are breakaways are going to kill you if you get scored on them.

Other side of it is, if you average 30 shots against and give up 2-3 goals a night your GAA will still be the same but you will have a slightly better SV%.

In a sense I am backing up Philly's point of Mason, as he has had a bad defense in front of him but is a better goalie then what the stats say about him.

His SV% is still average if not slightly above average on this list. Backing your point you were saying earlier. Probably a top 15 goalie in the league.
