Ullmark Move

Créé par: skids925
Équipe: 2024-25 Bruins de Boston
Date de création initiale: 19 mars 2024
Publié: 20 mars 2024
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
- I'm on the side of the Bruin's making it work for one more year and keeping Ullmark until he can sign for hopefully cheaper and keep the tandem together. However, if a trade were to go down I see New Jersey, Detroit, and Columbus as the top conteders. B's sign Rittich or any veteran backup to not rush Bussi into the show.

- Lindholm deal gets done (I'd also like Stephenson or Roslovic) and with the leftover money I could see them signing another scoring winger. But with how well Heinen has played this year and the chance of Merkulov, Lysell, or Stillman making the jump, give those four an opportunity and see where that takes them.

That package pretty much is a nice rationale for keeping Ullmark

This goalie combination is one of the biggest reasons we have the best record in the NHL.

Laugh all you want. The proof is in the record and the number of teams that were supposed to be good / suck because of bad goaltending

Doesn’t mean Ullmark has great trade value
Remember, i know EXACTLY how good Ullmark is- I’ve seen
A LOT more of him than you have

He’s above average, good even
Only reason he was “Vezina level” is bc the team that was in front of him last year

And once again, goalies DO NOT get big returns, period

Good goaltenders aren’t often traded. GM’s who have them generally keep them because they are a godsend for job security. You’ve watched him in Buffalo. Can you actually look at what he’s become with competent coaching and skill development? He wasn’t as technically adept pre Essensa. The Ullmark that came here two years ago is not the same goaltender and his stats show it.

Its a reason why Boston is what they are and the goal should be winning vs winning the prospect challenge.

I’m all for keeping Ullmark and letting him walk if the package is mediocre.

Then again, I view draft picks different than most. The most overrated asset in hockey is the late first to late second round pick. The % success in that area is worth something when you view a player is going to leave and his presence isn’t going to help you win. Ullmark doesn’t fit that description for Boston.

Wel if u guys don’t trade him,
then you’re gonna lose him for nothing when he walks after next season
Obviously u won’t be able to sign him
Someone will pay him to be their starter

Yup. And he will help us win this year if that happens.

We play in a different space than Buffalo. This might not make sense to you, but when you compete for playoffs … winning is important.

I value the one year contract to long term salary flexibility. If he leaves, he leaves.

Would rather have him and what he means to winning than a late second round pick. Players like coming to Boston, so we can replace his salary then as well.

Maybe. There are plenty of teams who went cheap at goaltending who frankly are struggling because of it. Acquiring a late first for him doesn’t seem all that unreasonable especially when you look at the mediocre free agent options. The level of damage created by bad goaltending this year is pretty noticeable

And Stillman is a young guy just picked in the late 1st a few years ago
You’re acting like he’s not even part of the proposed trade package

Not a huge fan of his game. Struggled in his overage years in the OHL. 20 points in 47 games with a shooting percentage of 18.8 percent. Not sure if I view that as a sustainable percentage.

There are other forwards I’d rather have that might not have the first round pedigree. Not a huge fan of paying for a player who might have been over drafted

That’s a much more reasonable response then your original which just crapped on the package without explanation
