We need to add someone. The question is whether that player is a 2nd liner or 3rd line player. My guess is that is going to be driven by how Lohrei ends the year. I could see Joel Edmundson (TOR - formerly WAS) and Kurtis MacDermid (NJ) as well. If Alec Martinez was cheap, he’d be a good name as well on a short term contract.

The premium LHD are going to be Skjei and Hanifin now that Forsling is signed

My rule of thumb here - if you're taking a guy that isn't a perfect fit, but is available, don't give them term. It seems like Sweeney is of the same mindset. JVR, Shattenkirk, Heinen etc.

I'm fine with most of your options, but I think Ghost is a horrible fit. if it's 1x2.5 that's fine, but it's not going to be that. I would also side on a more defensive player, so I like edmunson as a fit. Lindholm is your two way, all situation, good at absolutely everything guy (most teams don't have one, the bruins have two), Lohrei is flat out defensively deficient. I'm very confident he will grow out of that, but right now, that's just what he is. It makes sense to balance that group out with a defensive d man. Honestly, I would expect Forbort back.

I don’t see Forbort as the guy. He doesn’t really fit with Peeke and he’s not good enough to put with Carlo. I could see Grz and Peeke or Lohrei and Peake.

I’d like a third line left defenseman and fourth line forward for around $5m on a 1 year contract if possible. Maybe one of them on a 2 year. Edmundson seems interesting
