Not offering enough to Reinhart. Fla can just resign him to a 8 year 8.5 mil contract that’s more than what you’re offering with taxes

FLA can't afford to do that and FLA can't offer him the ability to play in his hometown for the same team his dad played for

They can. Anything below 9 they can do. And I’d rather resign him than montour. Plus more money is better than your hometown especially if he hasn’t played there in 10 years.

FLA has $20M in cap space and has 2 dmen signed while also having an entire Bottom 6 to fill, unless they can deal Bob Reinhart won't be back.

Alright you think what you want. Reinhart ain’t ending hip in Canada for anything less than 10

JT Miller got $8M AAV for 7 years coming off a 99 point season while being a year older at the time of signing, Reinhart is not a better player and likely doesn't get much more, if he was willing to sign a deal like that with FLA he would have signed by now.

He’s not better. He might play the more important position but he’s not better. Theyre very very equal if anything. Plus he was coming off of like a few mediocre seasons before the 99 points. Reinhart has been pretty steady most of his career with the exception of the first 20 games last season when he had like 6 points in that span. Than ended the season with 60 something. Nylander set the rate when he got 11 mil as a 90 point winger.

Mediocre seasons? He was over a ppg 2 seasons prior and had a down year during the shortened covid season when the entire team struggled, then comes the 99 point year. Reinhart didn't really break out until he got to Florida and this is the only truly elite goalscoring season he's had, I'd take Miller any day, even if he was still a winger. As for Nylander setting the market, everyone TOR overpays their stars, so it's not much of a comparable. You could also make the argument that Pettersson set the market and there's no chance Reinhart should get remotely close to what EP40 got.

8.5 in Florida vs 9.5 in Vancouver is relatively comparable. It's an almost negligible difference and then you can factor in maybe he wants to play for his hometown. Yes some players care about every last dollar but other players (ie Tavares) are willing to give up some money to go home
