I think Markstrom will be a very strong starter for NJ and bring much needed stability for the next 2 years until Daws or Schmid or other can take over. I think he will steal you games. He will have nights where he looks like a 10 mil goalie and like all goalies he will occasionally have a night where he looks like 1 mil goalie. I think he will be worth what ever NJ ends up paying for him. You have to understand the problem in your question though. Even tho he will be worth his 6 million for the next 2 years he would never get 6 million for only 2 years in free agency because there isn't enough term attached.

So yes worth his money and will continue to be. No, wouldn't get 6 mil if he were in FA right now because of the term.
